She was stunning! Congrats on the well deserved gold. I remember when you handed her to me to take a photo I had to ask if you sculpted her as I thought perhaps I somehow missed her release. Thanks for posting some of the process it is an interesting read, and of course bringing her to the show for us all the marvel at. Just lovely.

you have no idea how disappointed I am that there is not going to be a line of Pathfinder busts now....

Lovely work however, I can't give this nearly enough likes for what it deserves.

Thanks!

Maybe after I resculpt her, and fix all the mistakes that I know I made with her, I could try twisting somebody's arm at Paizo (not likely).

Great work, again!

Glad we had a chance to talk about it in more detail after you won your gold medal.

(And you're inspiring me to sculpt a bust of my own.)

I look forward to seeing what you come up with next, whether at this large scale or something smaller.

This was great (especially for a first attempt). I am excited to see what you do with the lessons you learned and improvements you want to make. Aside from the self critique you already mentioned I would add to watch for the lower eyelids. If they are too pronounced on female characters it tends to make them look old or unfeminine. Thanks for sharing your processes!

Also, this wasn't a first attempt. I don't want to give anybody some unrealistic expectations of me. ;)

There were 2 other head/torso sculpts that I almost finished before realizing how horribly off-course I had gone. There were also probably at least 7 decent revisions, too -- things where I'd wake up the next morning, and cut off her nose, so I'd have no choice but to redo it after I got home from work.

That was probably the biggest thing I learned on this project -- not just being even more critical of myself, but being able to readily accept that last night was just a learning experience, and that tonight might be a learning experience, too. And maybe tomorrow night will also be a learning experience. And the night after, and the night after...

We are very excited to be able to come back and participate at ReaperCon again this year!
There are a ton of new releases that will be in-stock at the show and a couple of other special items.

Bombshell Miniatures presents the 2021 Golden Maelee Award. This is a Sponsored Award section of the annual Reaper Master Series Open Painting Contest. All entries will be awarded a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Bombshell Dog Tag depending on the level of painting and presentation of each entry. The brand new, larger, Golden Maelee trophies will be awarded to the top three paint jobs (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) depending on the number of entries.

Entries will need to feature at least one or more Bombshell Miniatures as the prominent subject. This can be anything from Babes, Sidekicks, KritterKins, to robots, or busts. Each entry will be judged on its own merit of painting execution, presentation, and skill.

Entries from artists who have been professionally commissioned by Bombshell Miniatures are ineligible for the Golden Maelee Trophy at this time, they may still receive Dog Tag awards.

      BADGE RIBBONS
We have some new ribbons. Come by our booth and receive our Bombshell ribbon for your visit.
You may receive one of the other themed ribbons depending on your purchase.

      THE RESIN VAT
This year we will be offering seconds and mis-cast resin parts for sale by weight. Just scoop out what you want and we'll weigh it at check-out.
Although these castings didn't pass muster, you may find a gem that is just right for that conversion or terrain project down the line.

      COUNTERBLAST FOR SAVAGE WORLDS
Over the past year we have been working on creating a setting book of our Counterblast game for the Savage Worlds RPG.
Come by our booth and get the details to sit in on a couple of impromptu RPG preview sessions during the con.
There may even be freebies involved!

We are super excited to visit with all of you again and we're looking forward to see what you've been painting!

I saw the Rocky miniatures, and with how cute they are I could not resist getting one to use as a dragon to send against my players. As such, here is my take on the Flying Rocky, as a juvenile Red Dragon!

Comments, criticisms and advice as ever more than welcome!
