That's awesome! I love him.

That cloak especially looks great.

I know what you mean about painting before assembly... having same issue with some of my stormfiends tbh =/

But it looks like you overcame that for sure.

Only critique I might have is it's hard to see his face... but that's just as likely the cowl/sculpt too.

Wow! That cloak. There is a lot going on with this one. I had to look it up and down a few time to catch it all. Well Done.

Whoa nelly!  This is an amazing piece.

You painted it fully assembled?  Yikes.  You did a fantastic job.

He is just so marvelously over the top strange.  I love your colors and textures.

The colllooorrrrrrrrrs!  :D  It looks amazing -- particularly the rich cool color scheme on that scaly cloak, the mottled brown leathery look to its underside, and the smooth purple-to-magenta gradient on the hair tip.  (I'm envious of smooth-looking gradients like that.  My attempts at "blending" just never quite turn out as smooth.)

Is the base custom putty work?  It looks like pearlescent green earth, some sort of greenish slime flow, and miscellaneous spots that could be either ivory-colored stones, or tooth/horn growths, contributing to what looks like a hint of a very alien landscape (totally appropriate for a space pirate).

Thanks for the comments everyone! Seems like you all like the weird little dude as much as I do.

Yeah, his face was the hardest part to reach with my brush, there's pretty much something in the way on every side.

Stunning paint job. Love the colors. The inside of he cloak is my favorite part. So organic.

I lucked out painting the inside of his cloak, it had this lovely dimpled texture that worked perfectly when I put a wash over it.

It's actually the base he came with. I wasn't quite sure what it was meant to be, so I painted as part of a rocky coastline, all wet and slimy.
