Halloween decoration sales could be started mid September, Thanksgiving Mid October, But there should be absolutely NO, and I mean NO hint of Christmas before Black Friday.

It should be happy fall activities, yay the harvest, and then BAM! Winter, and the last feast before the really bad cold sets in. It was 85 degrees here today... I don't want to see images of snow flakes and snow men. Bah. Humbug.

(But crafting supplies could be sold for longer periods of time. It takes time and planning to do that stuff. So sell it year round even.)

Question for November 2, 2016:

How much candy did you acquire through sales, leftovers, or family tax?

I bought a bag of Russian fudge and a block of lamington-flavoured chocolate. Not really anything to do with Halloween, just had a sweet tooth at the supermarket.

None. Yet. Probably gonna remain none this year, though. I've been trying to really cut back on added sugars and the like, and I've done a pretty decent job of it of late. Sort of. When I'm at work I tend to graze on candy if it's available, and I can't seem to stop that...

I only had 6 pieces left from yesterday, so today was-a huntin' time. However, when I got to the store I found that they had put it on sale, but they pulled 90% of the stock to put in Christmas candy. I still managed to get 10 bags of Jelly Belly for $0.94 each, and  Spooky Shapes Reese's. Candy will be doled out at work, with enough to keep me fueled.

Not counting Reapercon, 1 bag of snack size Snickers.  The sales are ok, but not great, only 50% off. They'll go into lunch bags.

Post-Christmas and post-Valentine's sales are better. People are really sick of candy by then and it goes to 70% and even 90% off retail.

Also at valentines day, you are not handing out candy to the whole neighborhood.

If it had been just valentines day, I would have stopped at the box of Godiva I bought for myself?

What? Don't you judge me! What else am I going to do when the husband is out of town? It's the only time I don't have to share. (Even though I did when my friends came over to visit.)

I've got a nice stash of peanut butter cups and chocolate hidden in my desk drawer at work just now...

One addendum to yesterday: I'll be putting the xmas CDs in my truck's CD changer soon, some Tony Bennett, some PMJ, some Vince G Trio... ITS CRIMMAS TAHM YALL

Question for November 1st, 2016

If you were the emperor or empress of all the things where would you set the boundary dates for the Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Superbowl seasons?

Ignored rules! Just like how the holidays are ignored and Christmas is pushed to the front. I'm not a fan of Christmas being pushed over several holidays. It should begin December 1 not before October ends. *forces offenders to drink orange juice after brushing their teeth.* >__<

We did go out for Discount Candy Day (as Emperor Clown I declare that to be a holiday) But we in the Evil house need to lose some weight so we didn't get much. I did not tax any candy from my niece or nephews when we went out with them, though their parents might. We did end up with a few pieces from my in laws candy bowl because they didn't want that much candy in the house, but we didn't take much there since, again we are trying to lose a little weight.
