I hate when they make the breastplate into a GIANT FACE. So cheesy. Otherwise would've been my favorite armor set.

I completely agree. I can't stand the Pathfinder hellknights that have them either. Just makes me cringe. Also not a fan of the vagina mouth faces, some birthing dogpoles, on the armor. The first two Mongolian looking armor sculpts are lovely. They don't really seem to fit with the look of the rest of the line, but I like them a lot as general character designs. In the end this expansion won't affect me at all. I'm going for Gorm instead of Frogdog. I hope the Gorm narrative armor sculpts are nice.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm all about vagina mouths giving birth to cute killer puppies. I have it in resin :p

I'm pretty sure when I paint any of the body horror stuff it will forever be banished to the studio display case, never to live in the living room case!

Seems to me things like face armor is what greenstuff wasa few for. A few cuts and some putty and a face becomes a snake, an hourglass, an S or some other simple sculpts

Not that it affects me much, I'm really wasn't planning on the expansion anyway. The puppy thing is really creepy to me unlike mammary glands or genitalia, it's much harder to remove from the sculpt.

I actually like the face-plate armour, and the entire mongol design. I do agree, though, that it doesn't seem to quite fit into the rest of the theme of the universe. They look a little bit too "developed" if that makes any sense, especially in such a hostile environment as Kingdom Death is.

It's not the first "Out of Place" armour set they've done, the Arabian Nights-style Spider Silk set comes to mind, I think they've reached the point where it's hard to make the armours look like they've been cobbled together out of monster parts and yet still be distinctive.

Though I do hope the unseen armour set ties in better with the swamp setting, and has Frogdog "Birthing Faces"-style helmets just for the ickyness factor.

Unfortunately for me, that sweet Mongol armour has made this the third big expansion I want, and I only budgeted for two

With the budget blown, the inevitable slide towards going all in begins...

Really not a fan of the Frogdog though having another "tier 1" option is attractive.  Concept is interesting but I just don't like the face on it..  Very happy with with the armor sets though.  Going to be a tough one.  Time to see if I can get a few doolaars off my gamers...

For me, at this stage I think I'm going to hold off until we see more.  With a month to go, it's way too early for me to commit fully on anything since my budget is restricted.

mostly here:

I'm not fond of the vagina mouths, or humanoid breasts - I really don't know if this is too obscene to show off or just funny.

I was looking forward to something else to replace the white lion, but I don't think this is it.

The armor is not worth 50$ although it is pretty, I am not going to pay KD prices for it.

I still have budget for 1 more expansion - Now that this has been revealed I am leaning towards Dragon king.

Edit: on reflection I think the frogdog is most like a dirty joke, funny, but off-color,  I would not show it to my grandmother or display it to guests.

but friends would find it funny.  This doesn't make me want to buy it though.

I have the Frogdog in resin. I think it's one of the most delightfully creepy things KD has ever put out.

As a pretty much lifelong H.R. Giger fan, there's not much of anything that KD has put out that I would hesitate to put on display in my home. But I appreciate that kind of art and don't have children around to ask uncomfortable questions. ::P: The only model that I would hesitate to put out is the Wet Nurse, which is not my favourite model as it's just too on the nose IMO....though I still bought it when it was half off for Black Friday. ::P:

Does anyone else think the faces on the side of the Frogdog that are birthing the puppies look like George W. Bush?

I'm getting the expansion either way as I'm still sitting firmly on my Satan pledge. I like that I don't have to fuss with upping my pledge every time there's an update, although that does take a little bit of the excitement out of it. Still, I'm pretty pleased thus far with what I'll be getting for my pile of money.

Here's a more detailed quote from Adam on why he won't release the game without minis:

@Danien Mota, you know. Internally we had a lot of talk about this. I even have a quote for the core game with no mini's and just tokens sitting in my inbox. I decided I would let GenCon 2016 help me with the choice. We brought our last 50 off units to the show, they had no models in them as they were factory defects. We also brought enough sets of models (packed separately) to sell a la cart. Day 1, hour 1, we had a line that wrapped around many other booths and we got in trouble with the gencon police! We sold all of our games and here was the part that spoke to me... we only sold 5 games without miniatures. EVERYONE wanted them. The number of times I said: "Are you sure? Just the base game with no models is $100, with everything its $400" The models to me are an essential part of the experience and it seems the overwhelming majority feels the same way. Therefore I can say: We have ZERO plans to release our game or its expansions without miniatures.

With the Kingdom Death range seemingly moving towards 3D printed minis for their non-game stuff, I reluctantly picked up a pair (My only previous experience with a 3D printed mini being a very anime-styled witch I got from Ebay. I opened the package, looked at the tiny mini encased in a giant mass of web-like filaments, had a flashback to trying to clean Forgeworld resin minis (The triangles! To this day they haunt me still!) and shoved her straight back on Ebay.):-

(Astri the Promised is the big one, the other is Badar the Venomous).

Fortunately, these ones were nowhere near as bad!
They'd already been given a pretty good tidy up, so all I had to do was remove any remaining nubs and give them a good scrub with a wet toothbrush.

Hopefully they'll be dry by tomorrow, so they can be assembled and undercoated.

No time for the usual, since I need to head to work.  There are timed early birds, if you want to save a few $$.

Sod all to do with gaming, but I know we've got cat people with their own voids at home; and some of you might be into pins and need a Void of Blep of your own.
Or.. heck, I'unno. Maybe you need void stickers or something.

Presenting the Sniper, part of the Echoes of Death Vol. 3 set by Kingdom Death, looking snazzy in her Sunstalker outfit.

Another one where I had trouble coming up with a colour scheme, but I think she looks okay, just rather colourful!

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
