Someone on Facebook who I asked about storage solutions posted these -

These are great. I have one that contains most of my basing bits.

I'm told they are called " Really Useful Boxes"

After calculating correctly (misread some stuff and was like  on the price), these are not bad.  All 4 of those for less than $100.

Do you know the height of those trays Talae?

I like the look of them... but for staring basing material and bits. They look less than 1 inch high, which won't fit very many minis.

Do you mean the picture I posted or the trays I use?

The picture was found in a Google search, so I have no idea.

Been thinking about this thread, and thought of something else to throw at you. One of the things to keep in mind when deciding on your storage means is knowing how much your collection is going to travel.

Mine are all in Chessex style* boxes because I am constantly taking mine elsewhere to game - FLGS, friends houses, conventions, etc.   I have a canvas tote that is exactly the size needed to hold 5 of the large Chessex boxes, so I can grab the appropriate cases I need, throw them in the tote, and go.  And to a lesser extent, it's even handy when I'm playing at home - half my cases are in a closet in another room and half are at my painting station, none are right next to my DM chair. So when I'm DMing, I can have the cases I want for that session sitting next to me.

*I say Chessex "style",  because I now buy them straight from Flambeau and cut my own foam/make my own dividers.  Click on the spoiler below if you care to know more.

So Chessex uses Flambeau's V-series boxes, specifically the V701 for their Large Figure case and the V501 for their Small Figure case.  They get them in their own custom color, and have really nice cut trays for them.   But if you're willing to cut your own foam/make your own dividers, or want a couple different sizes, and don't mind the Dusky Skin Highlight color (yeah, I used the Power Palette to match it to a Reaper Paint), then they're a great deal.  I discovered that Chessex had them made by Flambeau a number of years back when I went looking for some cases for some proprietary programming equipment my company sends out to our customers.  Since I had to place an order with them for the case we eventually selected, I tacked on a dozen V series boxes for myself on to the order. I then started adding to my collection by ordering through my company's account every couple years.  I was going to do that again earlier this year when I discovered that Flambeau now has a shopping cart system, and you can now literally order them right off their website.

I buy four different sizes - the Top one is the V701, the bottom left one is the V501, as used by Chessex.  I absolutely love the middle one, the V601. It's the same depth as the large case, but smaller to tote around.  A lot of my skirmish armies are in a single V601 case.  The small one to the bottom right is the V401D-2.  It's the deepest of the V series Boxes, and I use it to store some of the larger Bones, such as the large elementals:

As I mentioned, I cut my own foam/make my own dividers these days. This actually started when I acquired several Chessex cases that had their really nice foam inserts quite badly mangled by the previous owner's attempts to fit whatever it was he was trying to put in there. Since I had already cut my own foam for those by the time I discovered the source, I didn't hesitate to do so again.  Mine aren't perfect, or even neat, but I like the flexibility it gives me. So here are some pics of a standard Chessex tray, followed by some examples of how I do it.

Small case with foam I cut for my Bones Gray Aliens:

Large case with dividers made out of 1/4" craft foam for my Bones PC type figures:

I even found that my Stones Tiles from Frontline games, and a few Bones scenery accessories fit in a large case:

I didn't pull it out to take a pic, but I have another case like this that stores my Bones Cargo containers and dumpsters, too. I was very happy to find they fit.

Those look similar (but not exact) to ones I got from Home Depot a few years back for storing the small stuff I need for work.  The ones I got had handles so you could actually pick them up and take them with you.

I was going to try and point you towards those, but apparently they're either not on Home Depot's website, or they don't carry them any more.

I use a lot of these for my small minis:

The boxes are 210 x 120 x 35mm and the 6 rooms can be dividet into 18 equally-sized rooms, 12 rooms or a mix, even 24, if you use the middle divider to further subdivide 6 of the rooms.

Fire Mountain have a few interesting models...
