Kobold Press Bestiary - A Collection Of Fantasy Miniatures

From The Site...
A collection of 28mm scaled miniatures based on the Midgard campaign setting as well as the Tome of Beasts from Kobold Press!

Link Here

"...Our 'Core Funding Group' consists of 20 creatures from the Kobold Press universe. Many of these are already in our hands and have had casts made of them. Funding this Kickstarter will not only allow us to pay for licensing for these miniatures, but will also pay for further molding and casting costs.

In addition to the Core Funding Group you will see that we have outlined Stretch Goals for an additional 40 miniatures. We believe that these figures, combined with the Core Funding Group, represent some of the most interesting creatures to be introduced to 5th Edition Roleplaying, and we want to deliver them to you!

Do not wait to pledge for this one!! If you will notice we have several 'Early Bird' types of funding groups, with a plan to add more as we dig deeper into stretch goals. The price for any additional groups will reflect the number of minis that are unlocked. This means the only way to get the full 'one of everything' effect is to lock yourself into those pledge groups early!..."

See first post now that I've updated the TAG.

Saw it after it happened and changed my reply post. Thanks!

I hope this goes better than the last Midgard Miniatures project...

It will for sure!!

We took a good look at where we think that person's project stalled and what caused us to delay delivery a few months on one of our previous kickstarters.

1) We have the ability to digitally design in-house, so we can overcome any stall on the sculptor's side.

2) We cast and ship our own miniatures, so we do not have to output a huge lump sum of cash to a third-party for production or wait for customs since we do not use foreign production facilities.

3) Most importantly we are limiting the scope of the project to mostly medium pieces that we know can be cast well, and have set the pricing accordingly to get us there.

4) Also, we are very tenacious about completing what we set out to do.

Bottom line we can do it all from this point forward, so I am confident we will make everyone very happy as we have on our previous Kickstarters.

Believe me, I have a lot more faith than you in Eastern Front.

I'm glad to see these designs coming to the third dimension.

Maybe my eyesight is too bad or my monitor too small, but I'd need bigger pictures to really decide which miniatures I'd want.

Thanks for the input. We will put some kind of solution together.

Backed.

Momentum is going to be hugely important on this project with so much funding coming from 'get it all' pledges. If stretch goals keep falling then that encourages people to back, but if it stalls a couple of stretch goals in, then those backers of the 'get it all' pledges are going to start jumping ship, resulting in terminal decline.

Let's hope it does really well though.

Unfortunately, I will probably have to skip this ... backing Mythic Battles and Bones IV on the horizon (not to mention CMON's Japan inspired next game) ... and not Euro-friendly makes shipping and custom fees really hurt (but I completely understand that not every company can create Euro-friendly Kickstarters).

Exactly! Next we will have Kobold Press let his customers know this is available, but I also have a plan to prevent terminal decline should only a few stretch goals get unlocked.

I am curious though, do you think most people like the pick and chose options or the group options?

I think it depends on the backer. Some of your backers are going to be handsome English geologists, with a winning smile and some cash to spend. Others will be smelly student types with only a few coppers that they found under an old pizza box.

I think the right level is the one that allows maximum choice whilst keeping it manageable. The current set up looks good although I think some the incremental

Totally understand. Wrapping up our last Kickstarter we sent some large quantities of minis to various countries. The shipping expense does increase the cost of each mini, but 1-3 minis is typically $3-6 foreign first class envelope shipping.

Thanks for understanding that small startups are not yet able to offer better international shipping. :-)

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brybelly/the-deck-of-many-things-and-the-deck-of-many-fates-rpg-cards

      Story
The fabric of reality is twisting anew, and Fate herself groans in agony. An adventurer has received an artifact both ancient and strange: the Deck of Many Things, which deals boon and woe with the capriciousness of a fey princess.
But something else is contained herein.
Another deck, alike in power, bearing spells and shames never before seen in this world or any other. I present you, wise man or fool, with the Deck of Many Fates.
       Two Decks. Infinite Fates.
All dungeon masters, veteran and novice alike, have heard the legends of the Deck of Many Things. A treasured artifact which can infuse any campaign with danger, wonder, and delight. But look here: another deck has emerged from behind the veil of mystery. A deck equal in power, yet bursting with epic confrontations and sinister secrets. The Deck of Many Fates.
Comprised of two decks totaling 49 jumbo-size tarot cards, The Deck of Many Things and the Deck of Many Fates are the perfect accessory for your adventuring party. Our finest sages have also included a guide on the use of these cards, as irresponsible operation may lead to disfigurement, death, and worse.
The Deck of Many Things has been an RPG mainstay for over 40 years. It is an artifact of immense power and extreme chaos. Twenty-two cards each contain a strange, potent, and often game-changing effect. Perhaps you shall draw the fabled Flame card, and with it the enmity of a powerful nemesis. Or, just as likely, you may draw the Gem card, blessing you with immense wealth.
Unlike its relative, the Deck of Many Fates is a relatively new artifact, unknown to most. It contains a staggering twenty-seven cards, each with a new power, curse, or opportunity. The Deck of Many Fates may be used on its own as an independent deck, or shuffled together with the Deck of Many Things to create a 49 card hybrid of magic, terror, and destiny.
The Deck of Many Things and the Deck of Many Fates includes 49 jumbo tarot cards, sized at 120mm x 70mm (~4.75" x 2.75") in two hand-illustrated tuck boxes, and helpful instructions for use and play.
        Shipping
Hopefully this step is nice and easy. We've designed a lightweight, tightly-packed product that ships nicely. Domestic (USA) orders ship free, and all International Orders pay a flat $5.
      Campaign Updates & Stretch Goals
This campaign will have no stretch goals; what you see is what you get. We'll be using the updates to reveal more cards from our mysterious, proprietary Deck of Many Fates.
      Risks and challenges
Common risks for cards items and RPG accessories typically include product and fulfillment issues. We're partnering with an experienced supplier we've worked with on several major projects like Wolves of Mercia, Derby Day Horse Racing, Michigan Rummy, and Faerie Chess. We're confident in their ability to produce and deliver, as we've seen it for ourselves dozens of times!

EDIT: I am in. $15 for 2 Decks, 49 Tarot sized cards with free shipping to US. Seems like a good deal and a small risk.

Didn't see a topic for this yet.
2 Limited edition miniatures in 80mm scale. 'Lady Godiva' and 'The Mirror', both based on classical paintings.
Older miniatures in the series can be bought as an add-on. Comments on previous kickstarters are pretty positive, apparently the casts are good, they're well packaged and sent out on time.

Nocturna is getting on the new paint band wagon. These seem to be a different line than their already existing paints collaborated with Vallejo. Plus some new figures. Wooo.

      Story
The world of Alberon, as ancient and unknowable as its timeless depths are, has few certainties for those that live in it, but ruin and corruption awaits all but a blessed few.  Halflings are, of course, no exception...
The Western Wastelands beyond Midlam are a harsh unforgiving environment, that breeds a fierceness through necessity for survival alone.  It is thought that the first halflings to enter the Wastelands, did so unwillingly, captured by Hobgoblin Raiders some several hundred years ago.
It is reported that the Hogoblins thought that their small size would make them useful servants for all manner of tasks, but when the monstrous and unstoppable nature of their appetites became apparent, the halflings were stranded in the middle of the wasteland and left them to die.
That they didn't is some testament to the hidden reserves and ingenuity of these small folk, but they have not survived unscathed.  Their souls, often forsaken to unknowable gods, have changed as much as their bodies and minds.
As a counterpoint to the Wasteland halflings, those that inhabit the town have found unusual niches, whether that be as criminal masterminds, pirates, anarchists, grave robbers and the somewhat cliched, but ever problematical, burglars.
An Excerpt from 'The Robbit' by The Wizard R.R.R. Gudgrief
Welcome to Halflings Gone Bad - Volume One!
A collection of sixteen 28mm scale halflings from the wrong side of the elven forest tracks, for all of your fantasy miniature games.
Welcome to our second Kickstarter to cover some of the more nefarious occupations and depths that halflings have stooped to.
The worrying nature of the appearance of wasteland halflings, something seen as a threat to all halfling civilisation, combined with the new depths of depravity of halflings in Midlam has called for a new town council to be convened from amongst the artisans and workers of Halftown.
