Here's the finished mini for this WIP thread. I'm continuing my attempt to paint these things up quickly and work on my speed, so there's some rough blending happening etc. And I just noticed a couple mold lines that I'd forgotten to clean up. And the spines came out far too white... Should have added more colour there. Anyway! Would still appreciate comments, suggestions, etc.

I envision this demon dog as being a beast of smoke and fire, much like the Balrog. However. I don't see it as burning the ground it walks on.

Most of the pictures I took of this were mysteriously out of focus. It obviously did not want to be taken a picture of.

Buenos dias, greetings and salutations fellow reaperites.
I am starting a wip for various reasons. I am trying to motivate myself to complete a few more lead/bone dollies. I hope to continue updating this as I make progress. Feedback of any kind will be greatly appreciated. Even the harshest critics. But you guys are an awesome bunch.

For starters I am half way done on this Warg. Sculpted by Jason Weibe and in the bones material.
I am attempting to make the warg appear if he is prowling on a moon lit nite. The shadows are a blue paint I can not recollect off the top of my head.

Up next is the hell hound. The sculptor is Ben Siens and the material is bones. I am trying to give him a battle worn appearance. To give him that appearance I have painted on faint scars. Now how to improve them and give them depth is a condrum.

The next one I have up to finish is a mind eater. The sculptor is Patrick Keith and another bones miniature. The mind eater is an experiment using various mediums. I am also using him to work on different forms of shading techniques.

And here is two different kroids. Sculpted by Gene Van Horn and in pewter. The details are amazing. I am trying to figure out the right zombie color I want for the kroid sniper.

And finally an oop rackham figure. I really like the sculpt and had bigger plans that I had to scale way back due to reality. I originally envisoned his skulls to be painted asgalaxys and a cosmic scene in the back ground. My talent is not up to par yet.

Thank you for viewing. And yep, need to work on editing and pic taking more.

EDIT: I APOLOGIZE FOR NOT PUTTING THE PIX IN SPOILER TAGS...NOT SURE HOW TO.

Good evening everyone! These are the first miniatures I have ever painted. I picked up the Bones Learn to Paint Kit a month ago or so and painted two of the 3 minis that came with it (the skeleton came broken) and then decided to pick up 3 more off of ebay and have painted 5 total to date. I was looking for a hobby and I stumbled across this site and read everything about minis and what not and decided to give it a try.

I added the model #'s in the topic for the ones I remembered.

The first mini I started with was the Armored Knight, followed by the Orc, then the Large Earth Elemental, Hell Hound and then finally the Pathfinder Dragon. Hoping to get some feedback on any/all of them as it would be much appreciated.

Below are some pics, both with flash off and flash on for comparison. The only paints I used where the ones that came with the painting kit...some I mixed together or thinned out etc... I don't have a table to paint on (I'm not painting on my polished coffee table! nor do I have a fancy white background (or rather just some white paper =P) so I used a white shirt for the backdrop.

Some things I noticed after I took the pics and along the way, these of which I still need to do, are: Paint the teeth on the Orc, paint the claws and wing bones of the dragon, fix the bone colored mark on the Hell Hound's left rear leg, eyes on the armored knight.

      Anyways, hope their good!

I got a new vampire box of bones, from the friend who talked me into buying one in the first place.
So now I get to repaint all the minis I painted when I was just starting.
      is now

This guy is a repost, now with gold bracers.  He is from mice and mystics board game (I only bought the figures)  and has gone from hero to villain  In my campaign he is known as "The Lord of Cats"

This figure will shortly serve as a Dire Lion, so I wanted to paint him as cat like as possible. Ill post the earlier (hellhound version) after I get a new picture of him.

I think I completed hound in late 2013, shown is a second attempt at the him, the first was terrible. and thankfully has no photos.
