I also am crazy: Watch me paint a mini a day in December

Getting set up for this. My goal is to finish painting at least one figure per day. I have a good number that are already started, so I should be able to handle this in the beginning. I won't be able to name each and every model since so many are old and out of package for so long, but if anyone can offer help on that, it would be great.

I won't be following such strict rules as others have. Just that by December 31 I should have posted photos of 31 newly painted figures.

Here's the first one, and kind of a cheat since the base colors were already down so I only had to do details and shading.

He's a Ral Partha Ranger, the lowest level in a character progression 3-pack. You can tell he's low-level because his sword is plain and his armor is only a quilted vest. He has a bow slung on his back poking out over his shoulder from beneath his cloak.

Running behind already. I have a little gladiatrix on deck but she's coming out too pink for the job. Also she seems to be missing half of her left hand. Don't know how I didn't notice that before. I could put a shield there. That ought to be sufficiently convincing. Time to dive into my bits box while I wait for paint to dry.

edit: in progress photo

The only shield I found in my bits box is nearly as big as she is (oddly enough, made for a dwarf), not at all suited to fast-paced arena combat. Also in taking more photos at high magnification I found her face  and other bits looking horrific, and also noticed bits of embedded dust. I think I've taken care of that much now. I will back-burner the gladiatrix and move on to something else while I resolve the shield problem.

At last! Gladiatrix and Minotaur are finished. Any guess as to their manufacture is welcome, as I have no idea.

With three figures down, I'm only two days behind schedule.

I ran an auto White Balance on the photos. I hope they don't look too washed out as a result, but it made them look brighter than my desk lights can do on their own. The minotaur shows my first attempt at painting non-metallic metals. I can't say whether or not it was successful.
