"No no no!  Silial, and... thing..."  Sturgis realizes he hadn't inspected Reaver... his focus lost for a moment, he regains it and continues.  "We should leave it be for now.  There are great and terrible warnings about opening the statue up, so we shall leave them be."

The deeper inspection reveals a secret compartment in the base. Upon conferring, the magic aura comes from within the compartment, but because it blocks line of sight, you can't make out more information about the contents with detect magic.

You open the compartment and pull out a magical peacock feather token (bird). Nothing else is in the compartment.

And the compartment was not trapped.

"What are you doing, Sillilial!  Are you mad?!"  Sturgis looks incredulous at Sillilial's search and finding of anything vaguely dangerous.

Thank you for actually searching, NightyKnight.  Sturgis is just a little nervous being in such a place and being attacked by something horrific right off the bat.

Sillilial hold up the peacock feather as it floats into his hand via the mage hand. "Sometimes all you need is alittle insanity to get the job done" Sillilial then starts cackling as he stands up and hands the feather to Reaver instructing it to place the feather in the depression in the wall.

The depression is oddly shaped, not like a common object. It doesn't match the feather. Placing the feather there doesn't cause any perceptible change.

-mumbling to himself- "I wonder if the feather is to represent spirit, and to open the door we need a combination of the mentioned components from the inscription." Sillilial will try an arcane knowledge check to try to remember something about this if possible

The feather is 12 inches long, up to 4 inches wide. The "eye" of the feather is 3 inches across.

The visible portion of the statue's eye suggests it would be 2 inches in diameter.
