COUNTESS KARNSTEIN BUST by GLITTERWOLF SOLARWIND

I can't congratulate you enough on this bit of work, Xherman. I've been watching you paint this for most of the year, and your skill has progressed by leaps and bounds. It may have taken awhile, but that's because of your perfectionism. It's has turned out into a beautiful and spectacular piece, every bit of it shows the love you put into this project. Proud of you, buddy.

FANTASTIC! After all the angst & threats, it is WONDERFUL to see your LOVELY creation completed. She is BEAUTIFULLY painted in a FINE selection of colors. VERY WELL DONE!

Very nice! I especially like her eyes and jewels.

You also ended up with very convincing skin, though I can't say for sure what makes it work so well.

How much is shaded, and how much is natural shadow from the model's contours?

There is a lot of ( I hope subtle) shading, I used several coats to get this.

Of course there is always the natural shadow, which in this case helps to bring out the shades I put there.

If interested, look at the WIP. Beware, it's kinda long and I restarted on parts a few times..

Some pretty good deals in the early bird specials:

Offering 30mm, 70mm, Busts and 1/10 () Scale figures.  Something for everyone!

I got the early bird 4 bust deal.  FWIW I have some of their earlier figures and they've been very good quality.

I'm just about finished with my final piece for ReaperCon, and I needed a break. I needed to paint something fun and with no consequence. I've been eyeing this sculpt from across the room, and I just decided to go for it. Nothing super crazy, just some true metallics, which I haven't done much with in some time. Enjoy!

This is the resin bust for the upcoming hair and makeup class at ReaperCon. It's a bit under two inches tall. Standard MSP paints for the hair and flowers. The skin tones are the new Bones paints - Ruddy to Pale Flesh.

Going to call this one done. This one was another case of the mini looking s lot better after it is painted then when it is bones white. Think I still need to work on skin application was really hard on this one and had to make up where shades would go a long the way on most of it; still was interesting using Sorcerous mist and Vampire mist and think that Vampre mist has potential for work well as a glaze. As you can probably tell went for a Vampirella kind of look. Also kind of happy with the orb as under light it pops more then i thought it would.
