Nice job, the eyes and gems stand out and I like the patina on the plaque.

Thank you! Glad the Vampire Lady likes the Vampire ^_^

Amazing work

it would be a privilege to be bitten by her

The bust is rather spiffy. Really like the subtle shading you achieved on the skin. The tone is very suitable for her and I consider using a similar one on my Necromanceress/Necromantess.

Adding colour with both the red strain of hair and the vivid make up really adds to the overall appearance: She is a seductress, not so much a Nosferatuesque monstrum. She also has a certain 80s vibe.

The gold and jewels are realised well and look the part to me.

Finally the choice of background is excellent. I would print the motif out a bit bigger and take a portrait shot of her without surroundings for full immersion. You could also try a low light shot with some pale white light coming from the direction of the window.

Did you consider adding a bit of blood running down the corner of her mouth?

Good idea about the print.

Maybe I will get a bigger one.

During the WIP I considered the idea of a little drop running from her mouth.

Maybe even some splatter on her ***erm*** her... well ..ehhh.. Yeah, there...

In the end I decided not too.

Mostly because it is almost always done with a vampire, and I wanted her to be all seductive and ready.

The victim might not be aware of her real form.

Nice candlelight, transfixed by those eyes...( they're up there BTW!)

Then she comes closer, her lips part and Oopsie, did I bite you? Giggle...

Wow, that is once nice big mini. Awesome job! Congrats on finishing her!

Thank you!

It took a while but thanks to the awesome feedback and support from the forumites here I was pushed to the limits.

Actually I just noticed a tiny spot that needs to be corrected.

Will do that this weekend.

A smidge of grey has hit the black, I will smooth that out.

Oooooshessopurty! Fantastic use of color and her skin looks so smooth. Love her!

Thx Mel,

Glad you like her.

And I fixed the little smudge on her side.

She is now all better.

Will post the last Pic later.

As Promised the last pic, she had a little smudge of the stoneworks on her top, and I corrected that.

So her is Her Darkness in all her new and improved glory...

*clapclapclapclapclapclapclap* She still looks spectacular, Xherman! Love the background you have for her!

Thx Wild Mage!!!

It's just a thing I printed out from the Internet.

She is in my display cabinet dominating all other busts and minis in there.

Such a shame Solarwind is out of business now.

I'm so glad I could still get her.

Almost waited too long.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Myyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...

Stunning work.  Now  I know why I have been freezing since I got back from Mexico's Cancun.

I needed a little vampire fire to boil my blood.

Works much better than Tequila Drinks, or straight up !!

Ummmm, freezing temps are beginning to recede !

Great Job !!

For the last few months since Reapercon, I've been focusing on pumping out minis to avoid the rut I got into last year. When I saw that Reaper had released the ghost sailors as metal figures, well... I knew what one of my October projects was going to be. I loved these guys as part of the Bones IV kickstarter, but I've not enjoyed painting plastic minis as much since getting back into metals at the Reapercon melt table, so I was psyched to order them and put in an order that night... Most of the rest I had from Reapercon, although I think I picked up Labella there too.

Either way, these guys painted up gorgeous and easy using my go-to one-two spirit technique! As a firm believer in spooky blue ghosts, I started by priming them white, then giving them a couple layers of Irrisen Blue from the new Pathfinder paintset... My old blue standby was from the HD line and the bottle has faded to the point of illegibility, but it was almost identical. Then once it's dry, I drybrush heavily with Linen White (pure white comes out looking starched, and bluer whites don't show on the blue, but linen is perfect) and... call it a day. Decorate the bases, maybe some pizza... 's good. That said, minis painted using this technique meet my #1 requirement for ghost minis: They're distinctive on the table!

I debated doing some OSL, but decided that it would wash the bases out, unfortunately. I like it better this way, with the bases nice and grounded, and the ghosts spooky and glowing! Lots of fun base details on these, too - 10/10 recommend picking them up if you have any sort of use for them!

Miniatures involved (not enough tags for them all): 03965: Ghost Pirate Cook, 03966: Ghost Pirate Quartermaster, 03967: Ghost Pirate Captain, 03968: Ghost Pirate Bosun, 03969: Drowned Nymph Ghost: Banshee, 03718: Ghost Bride, 03475: Labella DeMornay, Banshee, 03170: Lurien, Ghost, 14168: Gauren, Necropolis Hero, 03799: Female Wraith

      03965: Ghost Pirate Cook

      03966: Ghost Pirate Quartermaster

      03967: Ghost Pirate Captain

      03968: Ghost Pirate Bosun

      03969: Drowned Nymph Ghost: Banshee

      03718: Ghost Bride

      03475: Labella DeMornay, Banshee

      03170: Lurien, Ghost

      14168: Gauren, Necropolis Hero

      03799: Female Wraith

Of all of these, if I had to pick favorites... Hm... Ghost Bride and Gauren. They took the drybrushing perfectly and are super-fun figures!

Been working on a series of monster hunters from the Early Modern Era, and of course that means we need early modern monsters!

The Vampire, of course, is one of the most versatile classics. Polidori, the "Varney" authors, LeFanu, and Stoker popularized the concept and promoted the bloated varcolac or shambling nach-zerer to the aristocracy. The variety is almost infinite, but nowadays we expect them to be parasitic, narcissistic, obsessive, entitled, compelling, rule-bound, and of course, literally blood-thirsty.

Here's one such vampire, the beautiful Jahenna. Alluring, beguiling, deceptive. This is one of the crispest, cleanest sculpts I've encountered with regard to hands and hair. The conveniently-non-cruciform gravestone she's sitting on bears the legend "Mircalla RIP," a nod to LeFanu's "Carmilla" (source of the Vampire Anagram trope). The dress is very Jessica Rabbit-esque and my first attempt at fabric semitranslucency. Could probably have pushed those highlights more.

Matthias the Twisted, on the other hand, is a very different flavor of vampire. He gets the full Murnau/Schreck treatment. Grotesquerie, disfigurement, corruption, contagion. An asymmetric bogey, horrific, athirst, more rat than bat or wolf. I do love the adorable little plague rats around and on him.

This mini is called "Vorvorlaka" and is from the Bones 3 kickstarter, Graveyard expansion. I based it on a 30mm lipped base.

      The obligatory size comparisons...

More undead for the table top, because you can never have too many.

These guys bring me to 56 minis painted for the year.

Some pretty good deals in the early bird specials:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/399883540/orc-warband-collectors-by-yedharo-and-gt-studio-cr

Offering 30mm, 70mm, Busts and 1/10 () Scale figures.  Something for everyone!

I got the early bird 4 bust deal.  FWIW I have some of their earlier figures and they've been very good quality.
