I decided to flip through my ReaperCon purchase of the Learn to Paint Kit 2: Layer Up! and was inspired to actually get started...

This is the result of a couple of hours of effort.

Still working on the shadow stages, but so far I'm a fan of both the instructions, the paints, and my work. I'm not a fan of the brush that came with the kit. According to the instructions, it's supposed to be a size 1, it's a size 0. Not that big a deal... but the fact that it's bristles are splayed out like an abused drybrush? Does not match the quality of the brush I bought at ReaperCon and have been using regularly since.

Looking good.  Kudos on the eyes too, I'm not yet bold enough to try to get color in the eyes too.  It takes everything I have just to get a tiny dot for the pupil in there without messing up the rest of the face!

Looks good so far. The shade transitions seem a little sharp on the cloth. Gotta agree with Gargs, the eyes came out well. Colored eyes that small are crazy tricky. I usually just go for the pupil and hope for the best.

Thanks! And yeah, my shadows ended up darker than I had expected. I think I was a little too... conservative with placing the highlights.

Anyone who has got the male one of these able to tell me how easy it would be to remove his head for use on another mini?

This was supposed to be a quick tabletop paint job but ended up taking longer as I tried different techniques. It was a fun but tricky one to paint with the limited palette I choose but I like challenging myself and I am very pleased with the final result.

Been on a painting spree these last few months, in fact Cassie is mini 52 painted so far this year, out of my original goal of painting 50 all year.

First up is Elliwyn Heatherlark, Gnome Bard (SKU 77164) which is the bones version.  The details were a bit soft, but she is totally serviceable for table-top.

Next up, Blink Berenwicket (SKU 3689), the super spunky female gnome warrior in metal.  The sword didn't really turn out, and I should have had a side view...  Metals are shaded metallics.

And last but not least, Cassie, Female Gnome Wizard (SKU 77031) in bones and mini number 52 of the year.

Blink Berenwicket, Female Gnome by Bobby Jackson is also available in metal sku# 03732. The armor is painted with some ancient GW green metallic. I experimented with blue metallic on the sword but I'm not overly thrilled with the result but it is good enough to call done :)

Painted for one of my Player characters. Almost a speed paint. Original goal was to get done quickly, but started to take a little more time with her than I planned.
