Pezler the Polychromatic
Gadzooks!!!! I'm actually painting something again. Here's the bad boy I've chosen this time around: I actually have a colour scheme in mind after researching other people's work on this one, and have adjusted it according to my own whims. A quick slather of Reaper Brown Liner as a primer. And here we have a couple of layers of P3 Sanguine Highlight to bring some proper base colour, might put have to touch up a couple spots. After this: drybrushing! Edited January 1, 2018 by Pezler the Polychromatic
Moderator Darsc Zacal Posted December 19, 2016 Moderator Share Posted December 19, 2016 Off to a good start. Are you planning on using this in a zombie game? Cause that would be amusing.

No, but in my mind I see a bunch of zombies running after it while Yakety Sax is playing Either that, or the whole scene is Scooby-Dooed.

Pezler the Polychromatic
Much work was done today: I did a bunch of layering on this, all for the first time. I started with P3 Sanguine Highlight and added P3 Carnal Pink, then kept adding the latter with each layer, did about 7-8 layers for this one. Then i used Citadel Reikland Fleshshade on it, with a final layer of pure P3 Carnal Pink. I think I'm going to use a watered-down Fleshshade to finish it off, and then start on the legs.

Pezler the Polychromatic
Need to put some shininess to it, to give it that fresh wetness look. Been going over the options for that, we'll see what works. After that is the legs, I was originally going to go with black but perhaps Charred Brown might work better.
Pezler the Polychromatic
Just a touch of work today: Decided to add my version of magic wash, which is a 50/50 mix of water/Pledge multi-surface finish(formerly known as Future floor polish). I like the results, the shine makes it look more like fresh brains( Just do a Google image search of that if you have a strong stomach, I'm sure you'll agree).
malefactus
I love the color you came up with for The Brain. TERRIFIC WORK! For some reason or other, it brings back memories of Zacherley's show...he used a cauliflower for a stand in brain.

I have no real idea where to put them, it all looks the same to me. I feel like I'm just screwing it up and I'm going to be angry about it. .

Since these are basically strains also..it might apply here too.. Which means a highlight on te top of the strain and one on the bottom of the strain. Leaving the middel colour in between.. You could try that.

Moderator Chaoswolf Posted December 22, 2016 Moderator Share Posted December 22, 2016 Sorry to hear about the highlighting troubles; they kick my butt, too. I like the effect that you magic wash had on the brain, though. That's marvelous!

Intellect devourers are living creatures, so the brain should be wet and pink.
