Blaine mounted and on foot (Mantic)

Hi all,

 

To start of the year well, I decided to clear some of my primed but not yet painted minis.

Here are 2 variations of Blaine (Mantic's mascot) I got from Dungeon Saga and KoW rewards.

 

The version on foot was not very inspiring... but the mounted one was really fun (what is not to like to have a predator looking guy riding a dino!).

For the dino, I tried something a bit different from my usual paint job and started with a 2 tone base coat (green an yellow) that I then covered all around with a camo green wash. I'm quite happy with the result.

I agree the Dino makes the fig as it is very dynamic especially with your paint job.    The standing fig doesn't seem to have that same charm.

For a "simple" paint scheme, the dino is incredibly realistic looking - sometimes the elegant method is best

 

Love the mounted figure.  Wide stance on the standing figure makes him look static, he holds the weapon as if he is ready to move but he has weight in both feet and so cannot spring into action.

 

Paint wise i like the mounted figure better too - a bit more contrast and the larger areas of blue fabric help give the figure impact

DUDE. Blaine not only gets money and power, but he can do 200 consecutive pullups. He tames dinos by wrestling with them, and he only drinks coffee and monster. Blaine is so hard that he lets members of his tribe punch his abs for fun. This model seriously inspires me lol. I'd love to battle him in a skirmish game. Great work dude.
