Year in review, 2016 Edition - Very picture heavy

Recommended Posts

First of all those are lovely, and done quickly 11 in January? at high quality.

I noticed that alot of the figures were done multiple times with different color schemes,

even with similar , but not identical free hand.

a wizard with a starry cloak, and cleric with a tree stood out.

why the multiple variations on some?

Wow, you did a lot of lovely work this year.

It would have been nice to see them in order, but this is impressive too. I'm also interested in the stories behind the color variation duplicates.

Amazing!

I love them all, one of my favorites is that little demoness/imp on the stoneworks.

Great work!

Question, how did you compile all these pics together like that?

Nice progress... It would have been fun to put them in order so we can see your progression over the year.

Agreed, but the way I saved them on my computer was by miniature company.  I think this year I'll number them so that I can see how I progressed.

I sell many of these.

I used a free online site that makes photo collages for you.  There's quite a few websites.

I love these posts.  It is really informative to see a collection of someones work all in one place.  Helps solidify their sense of style.

I don't have a sense of style yet -  My wife will tell you i have no sense and my children will tell you i have no style, so perhaps it is hopeless ;)

If and when i do get a cohesive style, i would be very happy if it were anywhere close to this beautiful!

Hey all! Got this resin fig at ReaperCon 2016 and decided to base him using a Basius basing pad with some swampy/murky/creepy terrain.

My goal was to emphasize that this disciple is unconcerned with his cleanliness, and is a deadly foe.

I managed to work up a color scheme that speaks to faded Christmas colors which led me into an adventure idea wherein this summoner is bringing a twisted version of Krampus into existence for the holidays

A wee bit late, here is a visual roundup of the miniatures I painted in the 2016 calendar year.

I got off to a rapid start by attacking my Shelf of Shame in January, finishing 39 half-started figures by the end of the month: The whole Scooby Gang, female magicians and pirates, a small squad of driders, a few good monsters, some utterly enchanting Tom Meier elves, and some useful fantasy, modern, and sci fi characters.

Things slowed down considerably after that, but I got some good work done in several pulses.

Chaoswolf's lovely Box O' Goodwill project dropped some old school lead in my lap, and I enjoyed painting those sometimes chunky, sometimes elfin vintage figures.  Summer brought some useful dungeon wall and floor terrain, which I hoped could be used for figure photography as well as gameplay.  Some Doctor Who miniatures new and old were next, and the year's painting finished up with some cowboys converted to Githyanki and one magnificent and three slightly ridiculous vampires.

Picked this one up at Reapercon 2016.
She had that New Orleans Witch feel... :)
