Grenadier Cliff Dragon

Awesome!

I love the Grenadier minis, this one is a favorite.

Looks like a primeval dactyl or something.

Great job! Love the base too.

Good job on giving that very original sculpt the proper respect it deserves.

I like the subtle tone variations you painted on the neck and wings.

Thank you. I was experimenting on the wing a little. I'm happy with how it turned out, but I think I'd mix I'd some red if I were to do the wings again.

30 years, and finally it gets painted!  And nicely, too!

We keep painting these old figs, we're gonna stop being painters and turn into archeaologists.

The new Kickstarter got me motivated to dig up some old bones. I realized after all these years I have never painted a dragon, so I got after it. Rather happy with how this came out.

A large mini ragepainted sloppyfast in under an hour just to blow off some steam and get it off the tray it has been standing around for ages on.
Well, large mini I say. Compared to most other dragons of the Bones kickstarters, this one is rather smallish.
However, back in the day when heavy metal was king, this mini would be considered a large miniature of a dragon.

Saw this figure in my LGS a while back, decided to buy it, and now I'm using it as my new DnD character. He was quite intriguing to paint. I really enjoyed this one. I used Citadel paints for it. I also gave it a spray undercoat first, I do with all minis even ones that are already primed, too much of a habit now.

Painted this for the Lost Mines of Phandelver module that I am running.  Venomfang will be reoccuring throughout their adventures.
I painted this faster than usual, but would not call it speed pained because it still took me about a month. I put a bit more into it than my usual speed paints, but a little less than others. It is always hard from me to take pics of larger models, probably should have taken this one outside, may have benefited from the background trees and grass more than most other models.

Did a little painting today to calm my nerves before the con.  Experimented with several brands of metallic paint.  Photos are not great, but you get the idea.
