Now, I've got another question for you all: Are there stats out there for different races? I don't mean stuff like dwarves and elves but centaurs and other weird stuff. I ended up with two centaurs that I'm thinking about using but it would seem odd to me to have them move and stuff like everyone else. If there aren't rules, I might just give them +2 Move and they don't get Encumbered when carrying loot, but can only be Specialists and cost 25g more.

 

 

Yes, giving yourself a more powerful Crew would be another way to go.

No there are not stats for other races, outside of what's listed in the Bestiary. I think there was cavalry rules for Frostgrave in an old edition of the the Spellcaster, but not sure where you would track that down.  Your modifications for Centaurs sounds reasonable to me.

 

Are you on Facebook?  If so, I'd recommend combing through the Files section of the Ghost Archipelago page for more useful stuff.

Thanks. That's got a fair bit of the information I think I'll need but I might make my own... The less I have to open a book, the happier I am. :ph34r:

 

I put down for some notes for my own ideas for centaurs and then some notes for other races. Once I get a chance to play test them, I'll leave them here. It's kind of a shame that there's no "official" rules for other races but I can understand why the creator wouldn't want to put them together, it would be time intensive.

 

Yeah, I have FB. And I mostly use it for keeping up with gaming stuff. :lol:

So, in my search for a fourth player, I picked up the PDF (Osprey is having a sale, in case you didn't know) and linked my friend to the page for GA. We had a conversation that went something like this:
Him - Oh, yeah, FrostGrave, I've seen that around.

Me - I'm talking about Ghost Archipelago, the spin-off. Less Wizards, More Dinosaurs.

 

I think I'm going to start giving the game this subtitle from now on. :lol:

It looks like it's going to be just the three of us, no one else in the circle we have seems interested right now. This all assumes that we don't go back into lockdown or something again. :wacko:

Since I've had it on the brain, I ended up putting down my ideas for a campaignmy . I won't throw it on these folks yet, not until we get some games in and until I finish the ideas. If you want to check them out, go for it and let me know what you think of it (as it stands right now).

So, I sat down with my friend and we played a quick half of a game last night. I used my Amazons and she used the list I designed for her. I kind of had to run her crew for her but it was more "what do you want to do from these two or three things?" I ended up winning but that was because we ran out of time. Hopefully, she'll swing by a few more times to play before we introduce it to her husband. I also want to get everything painted... :ph34r:

I have to say that the rules are much better for newbies, and the shorter list of spells/powers really helps with preventing new players from taking forever during their turns, compared to FG.

Wow. It's been almost a year since I've posted in this thread. Mostly because I keep forgetting about it.

I played a few games a few months ago and found out just how tough Dricheans are and how tough my tough list is. I have a list with three crossbows and three bows and, due to some bad placement of terrain, I got picked apart by my friend. After that game, my friend and I started working on a few changes we're thinking about using, mostly having weapons have damage ratings and changing how armor works. I still like this game but it's so hard to get games in these days. 😕
