Ral Partha Sea Elf from AD&D Line 11-422

So on my quest to finish up this set of four elves, I just completed the sea elf last night.  I don't say this too often, but I think I'm really glad the way this one turned out, at least colorwise, as I was using a very limited color palette and was using sea-oriented colors that Reaper makes, like Seafoam Blue, Marine Teal, Clouded Sea, which are paints that I bought a while back but really haven't taken advantage of. With this color scheme in mind I may very well try to do some other aquatically themed figures in the near future.

 

 

Now out of this set 11-422 from way back in the day I've got one more figure left, a drow assassin, who will be up next as soon as I finish him.

magical colors - really creates the sense of underwater light - as if the colors really are there, just muted due to his environs

Thanks guys!  When I did him I kind of wanted that vibe that you were maybe looking at him as he was actually in the water.  Not sure how well that could have come across, but I did what I could. I think maybe the staff of his spear looks a little out of place.  I started out with Creamy ivory and then did very watered down washes of different sea blues, some purple and greys.

Thanks! This color scheme has me wanting to do more aquatic/nautical thing and I think I have the perfect candidate for more water themes. The only thing is being that they are in water, I have to put them on bases and sculpt some water.
