11-422 Ral Partha Elves, Drow Elf Assassin and friends

So here he is the final piece to the set I've been working on, an old Ral Partha AD&D set from the nineties, the Drow Elf assassin.

He looks great, I think it's my favorite of the all four. The highlights on the black cloak, the touch of green from his coat and the golden trims bring him to life. Thumbs up!

Love the fact that you highlighted the black cape with different colors depending on the direction the fabric was being pulled - would never have occurred to me to do that, but it looks great

 

the NMM gold trim on the armor is beautiful and the two small patches of green set the whole thing off nicely

I'm glad people liked the green pants! That was the only color where I really had doubts as if it would work or not color wise. I had my doubts too about the Count Dracula cape but ended up going with the red inner lining.

The green is soo subtle - and such a small area that it works perfect...

 

i always worry about those area on a mini - they are too small to call attention to and yet if you paint them yet another shade of brown or gray they sort of disappear - you solved that nicely - i will try to emulate next time!

I still owe you a WIP on mine.  Probably won't be quite as nice as yours turned out, but it ought to be interesting to see what I do differently... especially since until these I didn't even know they were different kinds of elves!

I'm sure they'll turn out great, you always do such really nice work and it will be nice to see a different approach on the color scheme, especially since these aren't your every day run of the mill elves that everybody and their third cousin's girlfriend's pet unicorn has painted. I'm really looking forward to seeing them when you get around to them, after the Secret Project number three is complete!
