Here's another group fresh off the paint table, a grouping of naughty nasty Dwarfs from Ganesha Games "Advanced Song of Blades & Heroes: Axe and Brimstone" Kickstarter.

I've painted them in gray skin tones, that way they can double up as Duergar, or be used as Warhammer Chaos Dwarves who are a bit far into the Curse of Stone.

The whole horde:

A converted Champion, using the Possessed Champion body, Chaos Marauder Shield, a Marauder Horseman head, an axe off a Chaos Cultist Champion, and a sculpted cloak to cover up a gap, and also it was the same week PETA protested Warhammer.

The Demonslayer.  This guy is actually supposed to be one of the good Dwarves aligned with the Halfling Villagers of the set, but with his demonskull hat, he seems to work as a worshiper as well.

I like them.  They are suitably dark.  I am surprised that you didn't do glowing eyes where they were available, given a few of the masks.  They look good and they probably show a scary front for the forces opposing them.

I think that these also show Micah's progression as a sculptor.  The Pelter "cultist" that you have shows how well he can pose things, while the main evil dwarves tend to show his earlier work (excluding the masks, which are awesome).

The unfortunate lighting I have at the house may have downplayed the intensity of their eyes a bit.  In person they stand out a bit more from the helmets...I used the Reaper Holiday "Holly Red" as a final touch and like usual, glossed them after the sealant.  I didn't do the eyes in the armor, though, I felt like having them just be embellished detail on the armor would have them blend with my other Dwarfs better.

I agree...the Demonslayer has a much more active, but it seemed like it was hell on casting.  It took me a while to straighten out his weapons, and you can see from the rear view that the back of his short sword seems more like a kukri.  I had the same issues with the Golden Lantern Bearer from the first "Hammer and Forge" set, which is why she only appears now rather than having been finished with the other pieces from that KS.

You know, I stumbled across these minis on KS a while back but didn't back them. The Halflings (if that's what they are - the "Good" side), although very nice sculpts, didn't interest me that much and I don't need another game system running around the house, either. Rulesets everywhere, I tell you!

I love what you've done with the dwarves, especially the conversion work on the Champion. He has a lot of character to him. The grey skin tone makes them seem fierce, too - almost demonic.

For Hashut!
