Lidless Eye Hobbies: The Horde of Hobgoblins (Ganesha Games)

Recommended Posts

Up next is a hideous horde of Hobgoblins, from Ganesha Games "Song of Blades and Heroes: Hammer & Forge" line.  There would be a Hobgoblin Mistcaller accompanying them, but the dogs decided to hide him instead...

The horde, with Sir Forscale as a guest/hostage:

I can say these are the first miniatures in a while I've painted for a specific game night.  I finished them about an hour before my players arrived...and of course they explored all the areas of Grudd Haug EXCEPT those manned by the Hobgoblins.

I'm surprised you didn't give them orange-ish skin (given their skin tone indicated in Hammer & Forge).  You did a great job on the group, and there are some interesting differences and conversions in the group.

I actually started with a more tangerine tone, but I decided to keep them under the "greenskin" banner in the end.  There's a bit more yellow in their skin mix than I use for Goblins and Orcs, but it doesn't stand out that much.

I completely understand.  I'm partial to red/orange hobgoblins outside of GW ones.  I'm glad to see that these look so good in green as well.  I'm glad you went for a lighter tone, that could be off-putting given the delicate nature of these sculpts.

My players always go the opposite direction I think they will go as well!

Well, it is a ferocious group of baddies that can ambush them the next time!

Hopefully they won't manage avoid them tonight.  They are still in the same steading, after all.

Good luck little hobgoblins! Happy hunting!

Good news: The Mistcaller Mystic has been recovered from the clutches of the cunning canines.  They apparently must like the flock I use, because the base is trashed but everything else was fine (a stray chip from a tooth or two, but fine).

He'll be next in the queue.

Just a random collection of recently painted 3D prints.  All of these are from a slightly modified Creality Ender-3

A Longship from EC3D: The Wilds of Wintertide

The Draken Airship, from Lovecraft Designs

Oh, well!  Also from Lovecraft Designs

      The Ferisia Mage Tower:

I know I messed up the timing this year, and worked on Deadcember instead of Orctober.   I wasn't feeling super-motivated by the small amount of unpainted Orcs I had, but from my Frostgrave II: Arcanic Boogaloo order had a ton of the living dead.  And one never has enough Zombies.

However, it means there's plenty of spookybois to be shown off!

The Draugr, mostly converted from the Fireforge Living Dead Peasants and Frostgrave Barbarians with some Warhammer bits.

The Knockers, again Fireforge Living Dead Peasants with Warhammer Dwarf Miners hats and bits from Mantic and Mage Knight.
I think I should go back and add big rucksacks...and redo the flames to be the correct order.

Just plain Fireforge Living Dead Peasants, with the exception of a Frostgrave Cultist head for the Executioner.

The Old Vet, a 3D print from Retro Quest

Undead Pirates from EC3D "Depths of Savage Atoll"

Former Imperials, converted from Warhammer Empire, Mantic Undead, and Frostgrave Cultists (Undead bits)

Mostly Mantic.  Beware the spine whip!

And lastly, when your Necromancer runs out of skulls, the Creeping Claws!  3D prints from Crippled God Foundry

A grouping from RBJ Games Company's latest Kickstarter, Pig-Faced Orcs (and Ettin Bodyguard!)

      Not'Nord, the Ettin(ess)

      Normal Nord:

      Shooty Nord:

      Shootier Nord:

      Iron Nord:

To finish off the recently finished, random miniatures! (I hate creating a bunch of tiny threads)

"Heroes of Golden Sword" from Crippled God Foundry

"Life is easy, it's never hard, when you're a Kobold and a Bard"

Kobold Bard (duh) from Stonehaven Miniatures

      Halfling Gardener, also from Stonehaven

Converted Foundry Argonauts, to be Dricheans for Frosgrave: Ghost Archipelago

      "LET'S GET FROSTY!"

Frost Giant from Gale Force 9

    • By Lidless Eye
Another compilation thread of things from Reaper Miniatures

A miniature that actually went OoP with the P-65 line, a Frost Giant acquired from one of the forum Box of Goodwill rounds:

      Dreadmere Mayor:

      Foo Dog:

      Minotaur(ess):

"And there's a creepy doll, that always follows you..."

      Chronoscopers:
