Hello,

I made this for my younger brothers birthday present. I run a game with him and his friends. His character isn't an orc so I glued a fabric mask on to hide the orcish face.  His character (Zanderluck) also lost his left hand and has a cursed gold handaxe that laughs when violent intent is sensed(also will eventually teleport back to him when he throws it or tries to hide it.  I spent about 18 hours on it including the base, handaxe and hook.  I wish I spent more time on the eyes and nose, that portion could use some more touch up.  Also I could have done the rocks on the mini the same color as the rocks I used for the base. The handaxe sadly doesn't have the best grip on the model even after super glue, any tips for adhering metal pieces together other than glue?   Aside from that I like critique and am trying to improve so please let me know what you think.

(Let me know if the pictures are too detailed, had outside help take them)

Very good job.

And welcome to the Forum.

As for glueing metal parts, pinning is mentioned, also using baking soda with the glue makes a stronger bond.

I use tiny blobs of Green Stuff and then a bit of superglue.

So see what works best for you.

I also noticed that it can depend on the kind of Superglue.

I'm Dutch..so different brands. For example Pattex? Doesn't work for me, Bison? Yes it does.

Also makes sure you cleaned the mini ( lukewarms dishwater) dried it, and roughen up the two metal parts that need to join a bit with a little knife or file.

A rough surface gives a better bond.

That's a very cool gift that you made for your brother; nice work on him!

Like others have mentioned, pinning the hand axe is probably going to be your best bet.

Welcome to the forums!

This was a fun and easy paint job. He comes with a variety of arms and weapon options so you can customize the figure. (and the extra arms are nice for conversions)

The last of my player characters I painted up for Frostrun is Ophelia Pokitz, a young halfling with sticky fingers.  They're represented here by Bailey Silverbell.

Ophelia was a fun mini as well.  Was my first time painting a humanoid with large facial features, which made it a lot easier to bring definition to the nose, lips, and eyes.  I think I even hit the cheeks with a bit of blush.  I also had fun trying to make their cloak look like it was made of fur.  The result is acceptable, but might also just look snow covered.  You can be the judge.  I also enjoyed painting a rogue that was both colorful, but subdued.  The dark greens and magentas add some much needed life to the otherwise dark mini, in my opinion.

      More Photos beneath the spoiler:

Ophelia Pokitz is what you would call a troubled teen.  Orphaned at a young age, Ophelia spent much of their childhood passing from orphanage to orphanage, always finding a way to get kicked out.  They eventually left the system and struck out on their own, traveling to some of the larger cities in search of a better life.  Over the years, Ophelia has learned to use their small size and tiny hands to "reposes" any valuables that aren't bolted down.  This habit has put them on a wanted list in many towns across the countryside.  Pushed further north, Ophelia has found themselves in the town of Harpy's Hearth.  Ignorant of their southern reputation, and full of gold-carrying adventurers, this could be a great place for Ophelia to catch a break and line their own pockets.  It could also be a great place to find a new family.  If they can survive the darkness to come.

Printed this out a while ago and made a base for her with the Greenstuffworld Cobblestone Roller and a twig.
The primer came out a bit chalky will try to remedy that. But for now I've basecoated her boots.
Leather can be a bit rough so it's alright.

      Hi guys,

Been working off and on on a few different miniatures but just got a few finished last night.  This one I was able to actually photograph today. I had another that I took pictures of, but when I looked at the pictures, it had a piece of grass sitting on it that I just couldn't accept so I'll take pictures again tomorrow of that figure.

So anyhoos, here is a Ral Partha Brigand with Sword, the third part of a blister from Partha's Encounters of the Imagination Series:

The set also came with some loot, some bags and a little treasure pile, but I haven't painted those yet. Don't know if I will or not.  Anyways, hope you all enjoy and are also enjoying the glory that is Reapercon!

      Another print from Artisan Guild.

      Aline the Bold.
I printed her, created a base for her using the Greenstuffworld Small Cobblestone one and a twig from the Garden Centre.
She will also get a bow on her back.

      Primed..
