Fulfilling 28mm Female Forest Tribe

We are looking at producing a small range of female figures for a fantasy forest tribe.

These have been designed via a computer, and will be cast in resin - this is a completely new venture for us, away from the standard 'greens'. Hence why only a small, initial range to see how the market takes to them.

The figures will be cast in resin, so far there are four command, five archers and four warriors.

All of the figures are different - there are a selection of figures above, and we will add more as time goes on.

All stretch goals will be added free to those who pledge the 'warband' and 'company' groups

Stretch Goals:

£1,000 - four spearwomen

£2,000 - chieftain riding unicorn

£3,000 - standard bearer riding unicorn 

This is just a taster, if the project proves successful, these will be amended and added to

He's pricing the minis way too low...   

 

Not backing this one until the Dragon from his earlier campaign arrives.

Must be very warm in that forest for them to be wearing so little clothes. Surprised they're not eaten alive by bugs.

The models seem a little "meh" to me.  Like something I'd look at on a vendor's table at a con and put back down afterwards. 

 

But the price does seem really low.  6$ for four figures in resin?  61$ for fifty-four ?

Yeah. That's the same he takes for the minis he's already selling on his website. 

I don't think he's really adding in labour costs, wastage or mishaps.

 

And since KS take a good chunk (10% or so) out of the money, he's actually worse off than selling direct.

I like the poses, but the faces are all completely expressionless.

The proportions seem a little off for humans. Many of them have noticeably short thighs and forearms. That would be okay for gnomes, but it look a little odd for human sized figures.

He must be making the resin casts in-house, otherwise there is no way that he can make it affordable.

I like what I'm seeing - assuming that these are digital sculpts where the faces have not yet been finished. I also am wondering a bit about price and I have backed his Landsknecht KS which more or less just ended and so it's miles away from being delivered ... not sure I'll stay in.

Frankly, I'd feel a bit better about it if he took £2 for each mini rather than £1.2 as he does now.

It'd give him quite a bit more leeway without pushing the unit price up to where people would hesitate to buy them.

(It'd also make it possible for him to invest in more and better equipment )

He said he would post picture of the real resin casts soon - the pictures on the KS page are digital sculpts.

ditto. Also, I gets this kind of creepy feel off of them. Not sure why. Is it just me or are the proportions a bit off?
