Is there any sort of monster that poses as an animal skin rug, then turns back into the living critter to sneak attack? it seems like that would be a D&D thing.

You could probably train a mimic to do this.  For more entertainment, put a chest in the room and hint that it's a mimic.

Each of the three crates have four sub categories.  So there are twelve total sub categories and only six are for sale as separate buys so far.

With that I mind I figure we are half way on stretch goals to make all twelve separate buys available.

The question I wonder is once all stretch goals are unlocked to make all twelve sub categories available will they continue to have new stretch goals to encourage people to buy all three crates or is the price discount going to be the only carrot to encourage three crate purchasing over just buying 12 sub category purchasing.

Mantic has stated that more sets are a possibility if the Kickstarter reaches a high enough level to warrant them.

Nothing has been said if a new 4th crate would be created for them or if they'd be added to existing crates or if they'd only be available as separate addons.

Also buying the four subcategories individually is $80. So I think it makes more sense to buy 3 crates (if your interested in that) than one crate. But if there are 4 categories you are interested in, and they are scattered between the crates it might make more sense to spend the extra $5 bucks and just buy subcategories.

This is going to be a tricky one for mantic.....once all 12 are complete which i dont think is that far off.

What dp you do begin creating a new set? What happens if you dont hit enough SG to complete the set?

Add extra stuff to existing sets?what happens if some sets grt extra and others dont making crates unbalanced?

Can't imagine that they add metal pieces that have their own mold?

SG's, particularly the early ones, are a dog and pony show, anyway. I'm sure the sets were sculpted and designed in advance, with the assumption that they would all be completed. With each set being one tool (and not always that, such as the Library and Dungeon Debris), once the current sets are finished, maybe they'll have SG's of another set they may or may not have already made, and reveal it as SG's are hit. During the last hours, they could simply say that they've hit all their planned SG's if they think the KS will not pay for the last tool, or they can pay for the rest of it themselves and announce, after the KS, that they or retail pledges have unlocked the last goals. And, of course, on the last day, the can offer repeats up to the climactic ending, as well as pieces from their existing terrain sets.

Bases... bases count as terrain, right?

I suspect that once they fill out the space on the mould/die for all the sets in all the crates, they'll add another set, and have the stretch goals go for filling it out.  If they fill out that set, then it would be rinse and repeat for more sets.  If miraculously that comes to four, they could call it the fourth crate.

However I am only speculating...

Designed, yes - sculpted, no.

But since 3D CAD has become the norm, the difference between design and sculpt has become blurred.

In this case, it is simplified a bit - many of the bits are shared between several sets, so a single design sees use in several Crates, while the actual number of sculpts remains fairly low.

Megan is already saying that this KS will be so very useful when we are showing Brigid how to play HeroQuest... Brigid is currently seven months old - Megan is planning ahead!

*EDIT* Megan was less than seven years old when her mum introduced her to HeroQuest - so she isn't looking that far ahead! (We will be playing HeroQuest with her mum on Mother's Day - have I mentioned that I love my mother in law?... And thinking about it, now I want to get a Dungeon Crate to paint up to give her on next Mother's Day!)

Looking at the pricing break, I doubt they will add more stuff than they planned on to the crates if it goes past the point where all the crates are full. Looking at the price point on the 2,000 limited $180 level 3 crate special level, that is half their intended retail price. Sure they could make it an even better deal, but I have a feeling they won't. We will see though.

I am in for a buck and will not withdraw my buck, and right now it is looking like it'll be a donation, which I am happy with.

Goodstuff. That's all it takes to get you into the Kickstarter with access to the pledge manager should you change your mind later.

I had a smurfhide chair in college. You know how many smurfs died to make that chair?

Not enough.

The problem with Smurfahide is that it only comes in blue.
