Mantic Terrain Crate

Mantic's completed sets have two of each piece, so, basically, each customer gets two molds' (tools') worth of miniatures. Look for a future SG adding more pieces to the torture set. The Baggage Train set is complete, so is available as a $20 add-on.

Thankfully, it doesn't look like the SG goals are getting too far apart. After the 400K torture set, they're adding more dupes at 405K:

  • An extra large wall for the Battlefield Crate (we couldn't quite fit the whole wall into the image)
  • Another fireplace and grate for the Town Crate (to ensure your tavern customers are toasty warm)
  • A keg of explosives for the Dungeon Crate (we reckon this will really go up with a bang)

Not sure ... I feel like they have added and are still adding multiples of certain pieces to a crate / to a set that are redundant whereas at the same time pieces you really could use more of remain single pieces. I'm not going to build a torture room for my games that has two Iron Maidens, for example, but two cages could easily be useful.

There can never be too much Iron Maiden. \m/

I'm assuming that all this stuff is eventually going to be available at retail, can anyone verify that?

Well if we're talking about THAT Maiden, I agree ... on the other hand, there also is only ONE of that Maiden.

I'm in for 1 crate (Dungeon) and am trying to not add more.  Have a crazy idea for a bunch of the mine and wizard stuff and who doesn't need more rats and skulls?!  I mean, really?!  I wish it were shipping sooner and I'll be sad when it gets delayed but...

I'm waffling hard on this one. There are a few parts that I really want, some more individual parts that I must (^_^) have, and a bunch of stuff that isn't very interesting.

But then I think, "well walls and fences are pretty boring, but I'll use them over and over".

And then I think, "$180 ::o:".

And then it's, "But $180 isn't that much more than what I really want, and I know I'll use most of that other stuff at some time."

We'll see whether I waffle all the way until it's too late or jump in at some point and at some level.

I find it interesting how folks are so worried about stuff they won't use.  Doesn't anyone consider how easy it will be to move any of this they don't want on the secondary market?   Just like with the Bones kickstarters, I know any pieces that aren't useful to me can easily be sold or traded...often at more than KS prices.

Too much of a pain in the rear. No part of the process of selling hobby stuff is hard, but the mass of listing, shipping, and worrying whether the person will be a scammer makes the process not worth the reward for me.

If I were to do it on a regular enough schedule, that might change, but I don't see that happening.

(I donate stuff to charities rather than hassle with garage sales for much the same reasons.)

So much this.

I know myself ... if I get stuff that I won't use I tell myself "I'll sell it" ... problem is: I never do, because I MIGHT use it someday ;)

And this!
