But then I think, "well walls and fences are pretty boring, but I'll use them over and over".

And then I think, "$180 ::o:".

If you only buy the Fences and Hedges set, and the Walls set, that's 2x $20 plus shipping, or 2x $30 MSRP. You can wait for retail, which should be about the same price from the OLGS at the free shipping threshold. OTOH, Some posters said they'll be using debris for their miniatures wargame terrain, so, if you pick up the Baggage Set, you might as well get the entire Battlefield Crate for the debris and bonus walls. That's still $75 plus shipping for the walls and fences.

As for stuff, if you're a roleplaying playing only one room at a time, yes, there's quite a bit. If you're have sets of Dwarven Forge (and there's another DF KS in a few months!) and other game tiles, it's just plain fun to set up the rooms ahead of time, instead of fishing for pieces as you play. Terrain's also easier to "paint". Frex, with the wood, prime in black, overhead spray with Army Painter Leather brown and/or Desert Yellow, and wash with brown Strong Tone ink.

Ah, but the walls and fences are parts that do not, by themselves, inspire me to spend money. (No, it's the orrery that I most want, and lots of other bits here and there.) The problem is that none of the crates is all that inspiring (well, maybe the Town one) and not all the stuff I want is in sets.

I think I came across five or six sets that I want (assuming they were all available) across the three crates, If I were to buy one crate plus the three sets that I particularly want, then it's $135 plus shipping.

And now were back in the waffle iron. ::P:

got the battlefield set. might get additional fences and walls. and maybe more walls. useful for large buildings, dungeons, battlefields, pretty much everything tabletop.

I'm in for 2 battlefield crates giving around 24ft worth of walls and fences (including the Crate Freebies)

Was only going to get 1 an extra Walls and Fences, but for the extra $30 would get a second camping and Baggage Train set as well, could sell them on and recoupe the $30 easily.

Sigh, dropped my pledge.  Darn new tires for the car.  At least I'll be able to pick up the smaller sets once they hit retail.

I know how you feel. There's so much great stuff in this project, but I can't afford to back it either. I'll definitely be getting some sets at retail though. Thankfully, MM carries their line so it's easy to add a couple of things with other orders.
