I must have missed this during the Kickstarter. I was expecting similar product to Bones and Dwarvenite. Is that not what I should have been expecting?

No - that is exactly what it is - firmer than Bones, and holding detail well.

I can honestly say I have no idea what he is on about - it is exactly as described, well detailed, and sturdy.

I have already started priming mine.

I can answer that, cause it's the reason I dropped out of the kickstarter.

Mantic was never clear on the hardness of the plastic being used. They kept on saying it would be the same as the minis found in their Walking Dead game.

Mantic made the exact same statement regarding The Star Saga plastic.

The problem with that statement is The Walking Dead terrain, the vehicles, batticades, and supply tokens, are made of a hard non bendy plastic. Similar to that of the Bones container or Wyrmgears wings.

The minis of the Walking Dead Characters are made of a slightly softer plastic, still firmer than Bones though.

The Star Saga character minis are made of a similar plastic as the Walking Dead characters.

Howevet The Star Saga terrain is a much softer bendy plastic that is nowhere near the hardness of the Walking Dead terrain.

Fear of not knowing what I'd be getting is what made me back out of this campaign.

Actually, they answered that question several times during the campaign - pretty sure you can find it buried in the extremely long comments section.

Whether or not you got to see the answer before it got buried under chaff....?

But it is exactly what I expected from the description - neither super hard nor super bendy.

I can't compare it to Dwarven Forge - I pretty much skip them every time.

Nor can I compare them with Star Saga.

But I can compare them to Bones and to the Dungeon Saga furniture.

Better detailed than the DS furniture - crisper corners, deeper yet less exaggerated textures - definitely an improvement over the DS furniture.

Less bendy than Bones - only a few of the really skinny pieces - candlesticks, cressets - show any bending - and those look like a hot water/cold water dip will fix them just fine.

I really do not understand what he is on about - they have good detail, are not overly bendy - at a guess, maybe he wanted resin?

I run games for kids - these are better detailed than some resin furniture, and much, much less fragile.

If they did, then it's a shame Mantic never updated the kickstarter FAQ.

Even now it still states it's the same as The Walking Dead plastic, and as I stated previously, the Walking Dead terrain is not bendy at all.

Got mine today.  Everything looks good, but the hot southern summer was not kind to the horse and cart.

However, I also finally have a horse and cart for EVERY D&D MODULE EVER WRITTEN, so that's nice.

The horse and cart are high on the list of things I wanted from this. I've got plans for them in several games.

Still nothing here in Oz.

Bit annoying that we don’t get the plastic inserts like the retail box. Do the Kickstarter boxes have more items in them than the retail versions?

From the looks of the options they have up for preorder, looks like significantly more.
