completed Mantic Terrain Crate

Mine arrived last on Saturday, and it all appears to be there; dungeon crate, battlefield crate, town crate, extra walls and extra abandoned mine stuff. Pretty pleased with it so far.

Scale wise - they would be pretty big, about two inches across, at a guesstimate.

The gold plastic does not look much like gold - but I had been planning on priming and painting anyway, so not a problem.

Almost certainly - removed from the mold while still hot and pliable, and allowed to cool after being warped when wiggled free.

 

Megan painted the round table - it was somewhat warped when we got it - but it is fine now, after a hot water/cold water bath.

 

Hot water does indeed work on this stiffer material - but leave it in longer.

Seen a couple of reports online of people ending up with sticky models after spray painting, so as with bones do a test piece rather than spraying your whole pledge all at once

Good to know on the coin size. I'm thinking about ordering a Treasury or maybe just the King's Coffers x2. I'm uncertain about my need for treasure hoards; like the dragons they're most often associated with, they're not an everyday use thing.

 

Also thanks for the info in the plastic hot water fix. Makes future concerns much less. For the most part my DF DoD is taking painting priority right now...

So some of the spray primers are tacky... good to know.

I think someone posted above. It's a PVC blend, and they're all pretty much the same. Wash them with warm (not hot) dishsoapy water, scrub with a toothbrush, rinse and let dry. Then you can paint directly on them, or use a brush-on primer, or use Reaper Inks, or...

Mine arrived yesterday. I got all 4 crates plus a set of Dungeon Saga doors. I haven’t gone through it all yet, but on my quick look I’m pretty happy with what I got.
