I'm starting to regret pulling out of this one...  They only have a small amount of these for sale on their site right now, so I'm going to have to wait a while now to get the few pieces I really wanted.

Awesome job on painting these up folks!

Nice touch on using a brighter color on the central bar - I only used the shame color for all three - but that looks nice.

I may redo one of the bars, maybe add a heraldric decal to the brighter colored one.

I broke down and ordered another Town crate through The War Store - and just got an e-mail from them that the listing was a mistake - that the Crates had been a Kickstarter Only item. ::(:

Yay! Shipping notice received. Supposed to arrive by Monday. I hope I'm not responsible for UPS import/duty fees. Box weighs 9 lbs!  That's a lot of plastic.

I got hit with the UPS Canada Tax. <_< Arrived about an hour ago. Haven't done much beside looked at the contents and gone "yup, that's some terrain bits"

I'm pretty happy with my shipment. I suppose I could use them unpainted, but I'd prefer not. Still: I don't have the desire to spend a lot of time.

What's the quickest way to get these done? Can I just drybrush the brown pieces with light brown? Or do I really need to base-coat first?

Fastest would be Dip.

Block in the colors you need for things like nails, barrel hoops, or anything else not made of wood.

Get a Miniwax walnut wood stain, dip the thing into the stain then shake and let dry.

Done!

i was able to knock out a dozen of hte wood pieces in an hour by laying down a layer of brown craft paint (i use Americana ), and then dry brushing lighter brown Reaper paint across it. I then pick out metal bits afterwards

How much did it end up being?

When I order from the states I don't use anything other than USPS either. Still get dinged once in awhile because the company uses a courier even if that wasn't what it said on the website. Worst case was a hand cranked pasta maker the wife wanted. She's very frugal and didn't want to buy one off the shelf here so I found it cheaper online. The company through in a small "free" recipe booklet which was listed on the bill as costing over $100 usd. So we got stuck with hugely exorbitant import fees. I didn't know enough then to just return the purchase. I paid it and broccolied to UPS and the company and got a small refund. Stupid pasta maker cost twice what I could have got it locally because of this and the wife barely uses it.

Well, purchased the Dungeon Essentials from another retailer - since I had decided in a moment of sheer brilliance that I wasn't ever going to want it. (Megan knew better, and told me so.)

Dungeon Essentials is some of the Dungeon Saga terrain repackaged.

It is not bad - but, holy moley, they did better in Terrain Crate - side by side, you can see the difference in detail - on the bookcases in particular.

That said - I am happy with the Dungeon Saga terrain, too - I mostly got it for the doors, and I like what I got. The lectern is probably my favorite bit.

One nice touch - two of the doors in the set match the shattered doors being used as barricades in the Terrain Crate.
