I am the same.  I like the idea but that video actually decreased my interest. I hope the other two sets have more interesting pieces. I wish they would stick to the larger pieces like the groups of barrels and boxes. I don't need a bunch of teeny tiny things.

I think that it would have been better if they were to take that video and instead turn the images into a single image (or images grouped by theme). Even then, I am left wanting more...or at least a little different.

They confirmed that the sets will all be fantasy themed. They're making:

  • The classic Dungeon Set – which has a library, wizard’s study and piles of treasure.
  • The Battlefields Set – think walls, fences, camp sites and even a cart
  • The Town Set – including a Blacksmiths, Town Guardroom and Tavern.

I really, really  like the library in the other video -  That wheeled ladder makes me want to squee! Picturing a wizard riding it while casting spells at the party.

  Reveal hidden contents

In my head, that wizard looks amazingly like Alice Cooper - from a long ago commercial for Staples office supply.... (Cooper riding the shopping cart and going 'Whee!'....)

The Auld Grump - and I don't even much like Alice Cooper....

I'm still not entirely sure, some of those pieces looked good, others looked unfinished.  Some of the smaller bits, like the pick axe might be useful, but I'm already getting a lot of weapon/shield scatter from the last Bones KS.  I'll have to make my final decision when the KS is live.

Spoiler

Ciaran Morris So I'm that guy... did a slow-mo and counted 66 pieces in total, of about 36 different types, with a couple of variants of repeated pieces (bookcases and mine tracks at first pass).

Here's the list that I could make out:

ITEM TYPE QUANTITY
Armour pile 1
Astronomer's Orrery 1
Barrel Set 2
Bookcase - Corner 1
Bookcase - Narrow 1
Bookcase - Wide 2
Brick Rubble - Large 2
Brick Rubble - Small 2
Candelabra - Tall 2
Chests & Scrolls pile 2
Giant Rat/Tabletop - Rat 2
Hasty Door Barricade 2
Hasty Table Barricade 2
Mage's Dresser - Wide 1
Mine Cart 2
Mine Explosives Barrel 2
Mine Pickaxe 2
Mine Track - Curve 2
Mine Track - Straight 6
Mine Track Bumper 2
Scribe's Dresser - Wide 1
Stone Pillar 2
Stones/Rocks pile - Small 2
Stones/Rocks/Ore pile - Large 2
Tabletop - Books pile 1
Tabletop - Candles 1
Tabletop - Gold Sack 2
Tabletop - Map & Scrolls 1
Tabletop - Platter & Chalice 2
Tabletop - Potions & Bottles 1
Tabletop - Skull 2
Treasure Hoard - Large 2
Treasure Hoard - Medium 2
Treasure Hoard - Small 2
Wooden Crate 2
Wooden Crates Set 2

So that's less than $1 a piece - I'll have that thanks very much!

And that's before stretch goals roll in. I know there are a few teases not included in that video, such as the Crystals outcrop, Training Dummy, Sword in the Stone, Tall pile of tabletop books, Mage's Desk, Mage's Owl +

Stand and the Bookcase ladder, some of which may be in different sets but it shows there is alot of stuff on the way regardless!

Pathfinder miniatures has prepainted terrain, but they're stupid expensive and in the rare slots. CSI was reselling a candelabra for about ten bucks.

If you completely prime in black, then spray with a color primer, such as Army Painter, then follow with a wash, you'll get most of a paintjob done.

BTW, For anyone who has kids or are new to painting, terrain is a good way to start practicing.

lol own personal sweat shop lol

Yea I have most of the pathfinder and D&D prepainted stuff.  It is definitely not worth the second hand price.  While a couple pieces are really cool like the demon gate.  (wish I got more of those)  Most of the generic stuff is not worth it...I mean $15 for a table...get real....
