One of the players in my kids game is getting the Wizard's Study - for his character... which means that he also wants to build his own Wizard's Tower... really wishing that I had gone with Kingmaker for that kid....

 

These terrain sets have the kid interested in painting - while he had not been interested in that for regular minis.

 

Sadly, Megan and I are in a Dueling Kickstarters situation - put money aside for Bones IV or pour funds into the terrain crates... with the full knowledge that we will both be both happy with our purchses, and disappointed with what we had to skip to invest in the other Kickstarter....

The way I see it ... this is now ... Bones IV is later (and the pledge manager will be open for months) ... But I'm also getting a bit more ... reasonable (slight exaggeration here) ... I'll only go in for one or two small sets like the Wizard's study and maybe the camp site ... and maybe the mine ... and maybe the tavern or the blacksmith.

For a while, we were looking at six Crates....

 

Weird as it may sound, it was because of the stuff that already has duplicates between the sets - the Library and Wizard's Study... I think that Megan has an idea for a Mordheim campaign..,. (Library of Mordheim? Maybe?)

If the material is like their Dungeon Saga terrain you shouldn't have anything to worry about. It might break if you hit it with a hammer, but I doubt it. Honestly, I wish Bones terrain was made of this material. This holds details, and its shape, but still has some give. Mantic's terrain material is one of it's best selling points.

I believe on of their first comments on their campaign was that it wasn't going to be the same, but more like the terrain they put out for the game after that (Deadzone maybe? I'll have to go find the quote. I only pay attention to their fantasy stuff).
