Hope you didn't pour the water effect already!::P:

Hah, nope, that'll be one of the last things done for this piece.

Just got the priming done, it's dry enough to the touch and I'll go ahead and snap some quick picks and post them up in a moment.

Here we go, where I'm at right now -

Primed black and then some zenithal priming with grey. The goblet is now glued in place, the book on her lap is just held there with blue tack for the pics. That'll get glued on after I've painted her and the book separately.

A few pics are SFW as they are from behind and you can't see any naughty bits, took pics going all around her so you can all see all the angles.

Goblet look better? Should I do more zenithal priming with white on a few areas?

The angle of the goblet is much better, yes, but I could see in your Fb pictures that it still looks kind of like it's stuck to her thumb, since her fingers don't wrap around it. Though since it's already glued, it's probably too late to change anything.

The "floating" books look really cool, though, and I imagine will look even more so with a bit of color tying them to her hand, to indicate she's levitating them. ::):

What is the little cylindrical object behind her on the right? Is it a lamp, a vase, a tiny table?

Huzzah!

Hmm, I got it glued touching 2-3 fingers actually. Here's some super duper close-ups of her hand and goblet, looks really good in person.

The cylindrical object is a tiny lantern, I'll do a little bit of OSL from it leading outwards to give her some light, but nothing too drastic.

I'm sort of with OneBoot, actually, when I'm distracted by a good book the beverages get left on the table. That said, I've got a friend who likes to read in her soaker tub, and she's also the type to have a glass of wine handy. So I guess it depends on the personality you're portraying. ::):

I look forward to seeing some pics with paint applied, the all black primer is making it hard to see the details. She's a neat sculpt, though!

Question: Where did you get all your resin bits? They look great!

I figured we'd all have a differing opinions on the wine glass, some will like it, some won't care for it, but it's the offhand distracted nature I'm trying to portray that she is sipping her glass of wine, practicing her spells after a long day at the school, she's just comfy and took off most of her clothes and got distracted by the book in her lap before finishing her undressing.

I'm currently painting the skin tones, not loving them yet as I try to get it just right, I also need to get the right base color for them before I do the tats and the stockings. Trying for the hispanic / native american type of skin tone, which isn't easy.

Resin bits - I'm pretty sure I picked them up from Fantization, they used to have a few packs of resin books/scrolls/goblets from enigma I believe.

Memorizing spells requires one to rest for 8 hours, but it doesn't necessarily mean sleep!

After a bit over 2 hours of working and reworking and doing a bit of research on how other artists do skin tones, I settled on this -

59a604daa9471_Distracted15.thumb.jpg.4a0724cb1d57e1f0665dc888c3315203.jpg

I know it'll need some more contrast for highlights and whatnot, but this is pretty much what I was aiming for.

The skin tone recipe I grabbed from MaGie Miniatures, she's on here too as MGM Painting and does some really stellar female skin tones! Never thought to add ORANGE to the skin tones to warm them up and get the look I was going for.

Been working on the sheer stockings here, I think for the very first time I've done it that it came out looking pretty realistic. Thoughts?

I got a bit of black paint spatter on her shoulders from doing her hair's basecoat, I've already fixed that.

Super helpful tutorial, I skimmed it and saved it to my favorites.  It helps that I've already got a few Reaper skin triads.  :;):

Awesome, glad I could point you towards her blog site, it's very informational ::D:

I think the stockings turned out very well. It might be just me, but perhaps just a touch more skin tone should be showing through? Though I would be satisfied with how it is now.

Honestly, I keep going back and forth with it and am pretty happy with how it is right now, but if everyone thinks I need to add more skin tone, I'll re-work it a bit more tomorrow.

Presenting Mr. Lovely Locks (aka Gadrock), a character from the game Kingdom Death:- Monster. He's prepared to face the unspeakable horrors lurking in the darkness with nothing more than a jawbone knuckleduster and an overgrown fringe.

Really pleased with this one, I'm happy with how his skin turned out and I didn't make a mess painting all those cuts he's acquired.

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Some NSFW minis on the KS page, images not included here

KHÂRN-ÂGES is a medieval fantastic skirmish game in which you direct a Spearhead (name given to your miniatures team). These Spearheads are composed of anthropomorphic animals of 54mm (this is an indicative value, many species are larger).
The figures are sold unassembled and unpainted.
It's an ambitious project where you can choose from four different factions from the start. A rules book will detail all phases of the game, as well as equipment, spells and scenarios. A double-sided battle mat completes the game material.
You can discover the universe and follow most heroes in a novel already available in French (it's a good way to start learning!): Khârn-Ages T1: The Embrasement.
In KHÂRN-ÂGES, you can modulate your compositions without changing miniatures! Indeed a same figurine can correspond to several LEVELS of profiles, and you can equip it as you wish, you have the possibility to play it with different characteristics while changing its weapons and its equipment, or to have access to many different spells for magicians. KHÂRN-ÂGES is a scenario game, it is not about exterminating your opponent (even if it's feasible sometimes!), but fulfilling your goals to win.
KHÂRN-ÂGES is a game that only requires a few miniatures to play, so you will not have a huge budget to plan to get started and buy your 500 Krowns of heroes to build your first Spearhead: the cost of recruitment of each mini proposed in this campaign is indicated below each model, it can be modulated by the equipment that will be available in the rulebook.
This campaign offers you to acquire the figurines, the rules, the play mat to fully enjoy your fun experience from the start. The rules are easy to understand and very permissive, but the level of strategy is very high and will seduce the most demanding players. You can discover the fighting engine on our YOUTUBE channel (with English subtitles).
Last but not least, KHÂRN-ÂGES is a 100% French game, the entire project is developed in the north of France, 40 km separate the workshop of creation and production of our paper printer.
To date, after nearly 3 years of development, we are proud to present most of the miniatures that will be available during this campaign, the others are being modeled.
Rules and profile cards have been tested (by our team and a number of seasoned Briskars players). They are currently finalized and in the process of being formatted.

If we decide to go through a crowdfunding campaign, it's because this project can not succeed without you!
TGCM is a modest company but has always kept its commitments and has created a substantial community around its first game, Briskars. However, the costs of such an adventure are much higher than those that allowed us to launch our first game.
In addition to the design phase, the production and molding of figurines, there are many items related to the creation of a game.
Your contributions will allow the printing of books and profiles and equipment cards, the modeling, the production and packaging of minitures, the control of the production line in our workshop to guarantee you the best quality and the development (we hope you will reach these levels) of many game accessories.
The goal we are hoping to reach may seem important, but it reflects the reality of the costs and charges we face.
Achieving this goal will allow the birth of KHÂRN-ÂGES, not to end our days in the sun!
We are counting on you all to reach it and bring the world of Safar to life...

      Khârns
Proud and bellicose, they are the archetype of the warrior people, but they are far from having the same character. Their king gone crazy and paranoid after having tortured his people for too long is on the verge of being overthrown, the nobles are slipping into profit and debauchery at King-Khârns, the capital, and some, like Prince Baudry and his brave Paladins remain upright to the point of wanting to overthrow the established order.
However, all swear by blood and steel, the secular worship of this people. They have a brutal and organized fighting style, but are distinguished mainly by their diversity of profiles: from the heavy armors worn by paladins to the rapid attacks of the advanced vanguards, they have no real weaknesses except the valor of their fighters. They are the stability that a player preferring to fight back will particularly like.   Size 75mm / Base 50mm   Size 70mm / Base 40mm   Size 65mm / Base 50mm   Size 54mm / Base 50mm
