Words and Magical symbols crawling under her skin while she reads the spell.

I replied in our PM, look at the links.

Yep, I love that one (as I told you in the PM). It's by one of the best in the world. I don't want to copy his tats, but I do want tats on her that are very occult/arcane and I'll draw stuff in the books and do a bit of OSL on the ground where the lantern is.

A couple quick pics as I'm home for lunch of what I did last night!

Paints used -

Started out with Vallejo Model Color "Smoke"

Mixed in some Vallejo Model Color "Buff"for some highlights

Came back in with Citadel "Agrax Earthshade" for the shadows and for the spaces in-between the boards.

Did some light glazes of Citadel "Biel-Tan Green"

Final highlights with a mix of Reaper MSP "Pumpkin Orange"/"Bronze Shadow" and Vallejo's "Buff"

I think it looks pretty decent, but if anyone sees anything else I need to do, please let me know, point it out to me and help me elevate this piece.

Also, give me some ideas for books and their cover colors if you feel like it.

After feedback here from some of you, I went ahead and re-worked the stockings a little bit tonight. I added more sheerness and fixed some of the blending issues. They aren't perfect, but they are a lot better in my personal opinion. I also added some interest to the tops of the stockings that go along her thighs. Some dabs and squiggles of black paint to make it look like the tops of what most thigh-high stockings have.

Give me your honest opinions on how it looks now and if I should call it good and move on to her skin blendings and tattoos.

Try working in the darker redder part of your skin color. Something about it all being the highlight color seems odd. Looking smoother! Great job!

maybe paint the nails on the base for extra realism!  Keep up the good work!!

edit- darker skin tone into the stockings. Wasn't using words again...

Where at? Glazed into the shadows?

Stockings are looking better, but I agree with Corporea that the highlights are a bit sharp.  There's also a spot on the outside of the left ankle that's a little too dark, I think.  Defintely a lot better in general color tone, before they were so dark that they didn't look sheer.

I think the stockings have been improved. Blending on the skin and perhaps a little highlighting on skin too? This figure is turning out quite splendidly so far though. I look forward to seeing it progress!

Thank you!

Yup, I actually did some more blending and reworked the skin a bit tonight. I'm going to tackle the tattoos soon. My idea is that she will have 3 of them: left upper thigh, small of the back and right thigh leading up her hip.

Also I've been trying to decide on colors for gloves and shoes. I'm thinking red right now.

Anyone have ideas or feedback on the (few) pieces of clothing she's wearing?

The stockings are looking a lot better now!  For reference, on the outer side of the ankle there is a little bone that protrudes--this tends to cause a distinctive shadow/highlight on sheer stockings.  It's one of those intuitive things that you absorb by wearing them.  (I'm not suggesting you try wearing them, by the way.)

Have you decided whether you want the shoes to be a bright color or a more subdued color?  It looks like they are one of the more prominent items of clothing.

Ok, I don't know what it is, but I really like the stockings when looking at her from her right side, but I like the stockings less when you look at her from the left. It's something about how high the highlights are, and how deep the shadows are. From the right side, I think you have captured the peaks of flesh tones through sheer fabric, with the fabric looking thicker where it should, and thinner where it should, but on the left, it looks like the fabric is more uniformly pulled the same thinness.

I hope this helps.

If you pick red, you'll have to more deliberately pick your colors to give/not give her a harlot vibe. Bright red has been called erm.... 4LetterWord-Me-Red (I hope that is toned down enough for this forum). Burgundies and maroons loan themselves more easily to subtle characters.

That said, red would look really good on her. It is hard to go wrong with red and black. The gloves appear to have a bracelet-ring combo attached. I'd decorate those with very different colors; blue, yellow, or green stones on a metal chain type of thing. It will make the work stand out more compared to say purple or orange.

Red is indeed considered an erotic colour.

Depends on the vibe you want to give her.

You could also go with dark blue shoes.

A deep purple or a nice dark green might be good for her gloves and shoes. A dark red would be nice too.

I'm liking the green idea. It would work well with contrast of reds in skin tone and compliment the base with the green in the wood. Thanks!

What color are the tattoos going to be?  I'm not sure they should "match" the gloves/shoes so that should be a consideration too.

I love Pochi's suggestion of green.  I hadn't thought of it and went back to look at the pictures again and love the idea.

She's coming along great!

Presenting Mr. Lovely Locks (aka Gadrock), a character from the game Kingdom Death:- Monster. He's prepared to face the unspeakable horrors lurking in the darkness with nothing more than a jawbone knuckleduster and an overgrown fringe.

Really pleased with this one, I'm happy with how his skin turned out and I didn't make a mess painting all those cuts he's acquired.

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Some NSFW minis on the KS page, images not included here

KHÂRN-ÂGES is a medieval fantastic skirmish game in which you direct a Spearhead (name given to your miniatures team). These Spearheads are composed of anthropomorphic animals of 54mm (this is an indicative value, many species are larger).
The figures are sold unassembled and unpainted.
It's an ambitious project where you can choose from four different factions from the start. A rules book will detail all phases of the game, as well as equipment, spells and scenarios. A double-sided battle mat completes the game material.
You can discover the universe and follow most heroes in a novel already available in French (it's a good way to start learning!): Khârn-Ages T1: The Embrasement.
In KHÂRN-ÂGES, you can modulate your compositions without changing miniatures! Indeed a same figurine can correspond to several LEVELS of profiles, and you can equip it as you wish, you have the possibility to play it with different characteristics while changing its weapons and its equipment, or to have access to many different spells for magicians. KHÂRN-ÂGES is a scenario game, it is not about exterminating your opponent (even if it's feasible sometimes!), but fulfilling your goals to win.
KHÂRN-ÂGES is a game that only requires a few miniatures to play, so you will not have a huge budget to plan to get started and buy your 500 Krowns of heroes to build your first Spearhead: the cost of recruitment of each mini proposed in this campaign is indicated below each model, it can be modulated by the equipment that will be available in the rulebook.
This campaign offers you to acquire the figurines, the rules, the play mat to fully enjoy your fun experience from the start. The rules are easy to understand and very permissive, but the level of strategy is very high and will seduce the most demanding players. You can discover the fighting engine on our YOUTUBE channel (with English subtitles).
Last but not least, KHÂRN-ÂGES is a 100% French game, the entire project is developed in the north of France, 40 km separate the workshop of creation and production of our paper printer.
To date, after nearly 3 years of development, we are proud to present most of the miniatures that will be available during this campaign, the others are being modeled.
Rules and profile cards have been tested (by our team and a number of seasoned Briskars players). They are currently finalized and in the process of being formatted.

If we decide to go through a crowdfunding campaign, it's because this project can not succeed without you!
TGCM is a modest company but has always kept its commitments and has created a substantial community around its first game, Briskars. However, the costs of such an adventure are much higher than those that allowed us to launch our first game.
In addition to the design phase, the production and molding of figurines, there are many items related to the creation of a game.
Your contributions will allow the printing of books and profiles and equipment cards, the modeling, the production and packaging of minitures, the control of the production line in our workshop to guarantee you the best quality and the development (we hope you will reach these levels) of many game accessories.
The goal we are hoping to reach may seem important, but it reflects the reality of the costs and charges we face.
Achieving this goal will allow the birth of KHÂRN-ÂGES, not to end our days in the sun!
We are counting on you all to reach it and bring the world of Safar to life...

      Khârns
Proud and bellicose, they are the archetype of the warrior people, but they are far from having the same character. Their king gone crazy and paranoid after having tortured his people for too long is on the verge of being overthrown, the nobles are slipping into profit and debauchery at King-Khârns, the capital, and some, like Prince Baudry and his brave Paladins remain upright to the point of wanting to overthrow the established order.
However, all swear by blood and steel, the secular worship of this people. They have a brutal and organized fighting style, but are distinguished mainly by their diversity of profiles: from the heavy armors worn by paladins to the rapid attacks of the advanced vanguards, they have no real weaknesses except the valor of their fighters. They are the stability that a player preferring to fight back will particularly like.   Size 75mm / Base 50mm   Size 70mm / Base 40mm   Size 65mm / Base 50mm   Size 54mm / Base 50mm
