If they handle Mordheim the way they are handling Necromunda, or try to tie it in with the Sigmar's Psychotic Episodes of the new Warhammer setting... I will be giving it a noisy pass.

The Auld Grump - because it is better to light a single candle and to curse the darkness. (And blame the darkness for the high cost of candles while you are at it.)

Is it the split of the Newcromunda rules that's bugging you?  I can see that.  The new models and throw-backs are great to me, but I'm not getting into yet another game that I'll never play right now.

With WHFRP 4th edition being classic Fantasy, I'm hopeful Mordheim will be set in the old Old World.  Shadespire seems to have taken its place in Age of Sigmar.

And will these be even more expensive than the metal ones, due to good GW custom?

well... they seem to be charging $80 for a 10 woman squad of basic battle sisters at the moment

unless they plan to make the new ones bigger than the old ones, they will likely be about $40 (as they are roughly similar in point cost, size, and number of weapon options to the skitari). Now the safe bet is that the elites and hqs will all cost more than the metal.

Of course this is assuming they're not planning to give them a shot of super soldier formula or a bigger armored exoskeleton to make them closer to marines/primaris size.

Terminator sisters would be awesome. In fact, I might do a sisters termie conversion / kitbash just because...

Our FLGS got into GW a little while ago and the owner's husband isn't happy that Orks haven't gotten a codex yet, he feels their hands are tied compared to the other factions. I have counseled patience, I don't think GW is done making announcements at Adepticon yet.

Hmm I didn't realize GW had made any Adepticon announcements.   All of them came before Adepticon even opened.

More likely the announcements were made in an attempt to steal some of FFG's thunder in the Star Wars Legion release.

I am not here to troll your post, or take sides.  I am not sure Legion will have the same impact X-wing did on market share.  but i do believe it got GW's attention.

As a result GW has become more user friendly.    so win win..    IMOO Legion is a good game.  Has a fluff that is as deep or deeper than 40k and it has brand recognition.

And a price point that is way under GW model.   and more along the line of Reaper bones....between $3.00 and $3.35 per troop.  Will the painting keep some away?  sure..  It's an interesting time for table top miniatures.

I may have been mistaken as to where they made the announcement, I haven't been on top of this as much as I'd like to be.

I don't know about that. GW has been doing big announcements at gaming conventions for a while now.

Also, if anything from GW looks like it's designed to combat SW Legion, it's the new edition of Kill Team that was announced at Gama.

One of the good things I can say about the direction of GW under Rountree is they are interacting with their customers and fans in a much more productive fashion.

Heck, there is a new squat figure - for Necromunda, and the Sisters are finally getting their much needed plastic minis.

Largely - and that the separate volumes do not contain enough material to justify their price.

Add in that even the Market is set up so that if there is no mini for, oh, let us say Eschers with stub pistols, then the Escher gang can't buy stub pistols.... But now that they have added new weapon arms for Escher, guess what they can now buy in the marketplace?....

Under Kirby GW became utterly convinced that if they don't make the model then offering the rules meant that somebody else would make the model, and reap the profits... True to a degree - but it leaves out that most people don't even know about those third party companies....

In part was from Kirby's conviction that GW's IP was their 'fortress wall and moat'.... only to discover that neither he nor their head of IP had any freakin' clue how IP actually works.... Or that GW had borrowed other people's IP back when they started work on their games....

It did suck that GW for decades would have options and sometimes entire units that just didn't have models, but removing previously existing things because you aren't planning to make models for them yet kinda sucks more.

I also wish that GW had moved away from the rulebook model and made the rules available for free online. That way you can actually balance things little by little, and release just a single new unit if that's what the best thing to do is.

Seems like they are sloooowly drifting toward this. With the list builder coming this month they could start adding new units when ever they have a mini.

(now if they could just be encouraged to split the rule books and fluff books. or at least be convinced to put the rules stuff online)
