Reaperbryan
yeah, but he doesn't properly revere the Omnissiah. Just because he's more machine than man doesn't make him devout or worthy.

TheAuldGrump
One of the less measurable, but noticeable, changes between editions was the steady increase in both model count and the size of capitol pieces. (Things like fliers and Knights.) Which, given the size of the table, made for very crowded battlefields. The Auld Grump

As a non-player, and non-interested party, I can't help but imagine some very dark colored armor and a red power sword.
Arc 724
My wargaming group is hoping for some price reduction from this new edition. We believe it's unlikely but we hope. One of our guys REALLY likes Games Workshop models but not the price. I say that cause he says it about every time we meet. LOL
Sergeant_Crunch
I don't mind relatively expensive models as long as I only need a couple. The problem with GW was that you need a lot of expensive models. Glad to see they're restructuring things some.

LOL As a manufacturer, let me say that an overall reduction in price for goods already available is highly unlikely - it will anger literally every retailer who has stock, because they will lose money, having paid for it at the higher price and now forced to either overcharge to make their expected margin, or sell for less than intended at time of purchase. The most likely outcome is a continuation of the current policy - where they either bundle 2 or more existing items and charge significantly less than the combined total (as my example above), or where they release new sculpts of existing figures in packs with twice as many of the same model, for the same price as the old package containing half that many, and of the old sculpt. Lars Porsenna
If price is an issue, there is always Ebay or on-line discounters. GW modified their on-line retailer policy, so sources like Miniature Market are going to start selling GW again. I used to get from them GW at 25% off. So if price is an issue, there are ways to alleviate the burden, besides going for the bundles. So here is the Psychic phase: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/04/28/new-warhammer-40000-psychic-phase/ If you are already familiar with how AoS handles it, then you should be familiar with this too... Sergeant_Crunch
If there wasn't an FLGS near me I'd go online. But since a couple of stores finally opened here a couple years ago I do my best to try to support them, but that's my hangup. Good point. I had not thought of that.

Another factor to keep in mind is that Games Workshop is a publicly traded company (GAW on the London exchange) - price changes can have impact on their shareholder's faith and stuff, which can be a problem if the current management doesn't carefully curate the message and prove that the impact will be positive.
Erifnogard
I keep reading stuff in the previews that get me interested despite my determination not to get excited for this edition. Sounds like they are pretty much copying Age of Sigmar's magic system for the Psychics of 40K (along with lots of other rules). I'm cool with this because I consider it a vast improvement over the current system. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/04/28/new-warhammer-40000-psychic-phase/ I will say again, AOS had lots of great rule ideas and I'm cool with stealing them for 40K. Just please, please, please don't let them bungle the force org for 40K like they did in AOS.
