So whilst digging around through my 40K stuff looking for things, I found a sprue of GW's plastic ruins, and decided to assemble them and paint them up as generic terrain, hopefully to be used in our upcoming Frostgrave games....

Base coated with GW Rough Coat, a textured spray paint, sadly OOP

Primed Black

Dry Brushed with GW Stormvermin Fur, Codex Grey, Kommando Khaki, Fortress Grey

Daubed with GW Blue, Red, Green, and Brown inks, diluted

Dry brushed with GW Codex Grey, Fortress Grey, VMC Stone Grey

I normally would have done a dilute Tomwise Sauce wash after the inks, but tonight whilst gabbing on the hangouts, I forgot!...

Couple more coats of DullCote and they will be done...

Though I may do the black wash now,,,

Thoughts????

Thanks for looking!

How are you going to explain all those bolter/ bullet holes?

Frostgrave is Fantasy, won't it bother you?

In our campaign, there are always plenty of Bone Darts and Elemental Blasts flying about.  Guess that's what their impacts look like. ::D:

Thanks!

It's all Clever Crow (Michael Proctor)'s fault!

When I did the tower from DDS 2, I followed his posts and discovered the staining stones with inks of different colors there....

I have since pretty much done all my grey stone in this fashion, as when I put different pieces on the table, they have a sense of 'Coherency', as if they were all quarried from the stone of the same area...

I will be doing this to Bonehenge when it gets here....

So I tried something again....

I put some MiG concrete pigment on these...

and as these are gaming pieces, put it on quite heavily, as I know that the sealer will blow some away, and make most disappear...

But I figured that it couldn't hurt!

Decided against vines and mosses, as they will be generic terrain for Frostgrave and such, so I'm going to leave it pretty much alone now....

Thanks for looking!
