About this project

League of Ancient Defenders (LOAD) is a two-team 2-6 player skirmish board game with stunning miniatures and intense gameplay modeled after popular battle arena online games. The vile forces of Chaos have invaded the island kingdom of Atlantis, humanity’s last hope. Players must leverage the unique abilities of their Heroes as they push three lanes simultaneously toward the opposing faction’s base. By destroying key enemy objectives, towers and spawn points, they will force the opposing team to abandon the battle in full retreat.

RE-LOAD will be available in English, German, Spanish and French. Selection will be possible when the Pledge Manager goes live after the Kickstarter.

I have to check them out. Even if the game is not fun, I wouldn't mind painting those miniatures.

They seem to be a bit bigger than normal 32mm?

I was on the verge of backing the first LOAD campaign, but did not because they were trying to hide who they were and had a less than stellar record. But they delivered LOAD as far as I know without any problems.

I'd be thinking about pledging, but it's a bad time (Mantic's terrain, CMON's Green Horde and Reaper Bones IV on the horizon).

I'll wait until the Aliens vs. Predator backers get their miniatures.

Their minis are on the bigger size, but very similar to Reaper. Here's a scale shot with a couple LOAD minis beside a Reaper and Conan mini I posted in the LOAD thread:

I only picked up a few of the Epic sculpts I thought would be fun to paint like the Vashara Epic sculpt.

They are at about 156k and have unlocked all the normal miniatures they had planned as stretch-goals up (originally I think twice that money or more would have been needed to unlock that) ... ? Generosity? Desperation? Planned all the way (a certain pledge level seems to suggest that)?

I got this and Zombicide Friday, so I combined some pics.

They are really creative with the mounts. Delwen and Braith are riding some sort of dirigible. Thais seems to be partially inside her bull mount, though it doesn't really seem to be a construct. Queen Anara is mounted atop a toothy-looking squid creature. Marquess rides a ferocious goat, whilst Skorus and Glop appear to be a dwarf riding a flying toad! They all look amazing, with the same level of detail and fantastic bases found on the original Load project. And those are just the regular mounted characters, there are several mounted epic minis.

The epic winged-centaur woman Seela is keeping company with some Zombicide and a Reaper mini. Sadly the pic is blurry, her details are amazing.

They weren't without problems though. Four minis had the oily surface that sometimes comes with resin minis. I have them soaking right now to see if it will come off. Also, a couple minis have broken parts. I can glue them back on, so not a big deal, but Epic Grok is missing a horn. On the bright side they do seem to have good customer service so if I can't get the oily substance off I'll ask for some replacements. Otherwise a minotaur missing a horn just adds some character. Oddly, all the issues were on the epic side of things, I wonder if they were rushing a bit to fulfill the ks and let qa slide.

      About
Welcome to our latest Kickstarter release: Wood Elves
A collection of wood elf miniatures that will continue to grow after the completion of this project. So let us know what else you want to see. We may even squeeze a few more miniatures into this campaign!

Artist (Dan Jack): "This was quite an exciting project to work on.  I have always pictured wood elves to be more feral and slightly darker than modern interpretations. The horns for me, are a way of depicting an elder, in an otherwise young looking race. As the elves become more integrated with the forest, they start to develop horns, which are seen as a nod to their stature with in the force. You will see some of the leaders with horns. This in turn, is a foundation we will be building into the narrative of our game. The death of an elf works in both directions. As they come closer to death and old age, you shall see a more warped by the forest aesthetic. I am looking forward to pushing this further with characters in the expansion of this range, as well as more young'uns."
Please note that the items that are shown in black are a guaranteed addition to box sets. They will be revealed as stretch goals to generate excitement!

      Shipping Date:  APRIL 2020
If you don't want the full box set, you can build your own custom order, by adding up the value of the items you want, and then pledge that amount in the 'build you own pledge' reward. You will get to pick and choose what you want in the pledge manager using your credit.
