Green Stuff - Water Resistant?

Recommended Posts

How water resistant is green stuff once it cures?

Between by fingers and tools, there's quite a bit of petroleum jelly residue that has built up on the model.  I would like to wash it off before I prime.  If the green stuff cures, will there be any problems if it is gotten wet?

Greenstuff does cure underwater, as I've actually used it for temporary plumbing repairs...

(However, the thing that makes it ill-suited for plumbing is the cure time - before it cures, it won't hold its shape under any sort of directional pressure, which means that water can just push it out of the way with enough time... You really need to use it on clean, dry pipes and let it fully cure before you reintroduce the water pressure.)
