JackMann
The hilarious thing is that as accountants, they would probably advise us not to spend as much on Bones as most of us will. As miniature makers, of course, they would probably advise us to take out that sixteenth mortgage to get more Bones...
CorallineAlgae
I dunno. Didn't Reaper say "Please pledge responsibly" to backers over and over during the campaign? I could easily be mistaken. It might've been a different kickstarter but I thought it was Bones 3. My memory isn't what it used to be, and it was never any good to begin with.
dice4hire
I do not remember but that would fit with Reaper. They also want long term customers, not bankrupt ones.
Smokestack
I think the please pledge responsibly thing was Kingdom Death. At least I don't remember that line in the Bones kickstarter.

I was so impressed with how the KD guys kept telling backers that the core game, by itself, would be all that a lot of gamers really needed. They also kept telling backers not to spend more than they could afford, over and over. I didn't read all the comments, but I thought they handled the truly rude backers with a surplus of courtesy. Very happy they did so well. Spoiler I also liked their near troll-like dice roll updates. None of them ever seemed the least bit mean spirited, even though a lot of people took them that way.

I may not speak for all accountants, but I am an accountant and I spend way too much on bones. Most of which I never get around to painting
Sirithiliel
I should have more funding this time around to spend, so that's good
Knight of the Dinner Table
As I'm not a huge fan of dragons (yeah, I'm not normal in that aspect), they could top Tianot with a nice terrain piece (Baba Yaga's Hut ... or ... a castle ;) ).
Club
I've got enough dragons and giant showpieces that I think I'll be able to keep from pledging most of those (With the exception of baba yaga's house, that's nice terrain.
Cranky Dog
Oh, that's right. Reaper must have several oversized minis in the books that only show up during KS projects. It's simultaneously scary and exciting.

I really want to be a part of it since I missed out on Bones 3. I just don't know if I could handle the wait. Especially after seeing the Bones 3 discussion thread. Nothing against Reaper! I'm sure the whole thing has been/ is a logistical nightmare. I just don't know if I have the patience to but down a couple hundred and have to wait 2 years. Like someone said in the other thread said. If you can't handle those types of waits then maybe you aren't a person who should be on KS.
Knight of the Dinner Table
NecroMancer ... it gets easier ... I backed Bones II and have not even painted half of them, so the wait for Bones III does not bother me. When Bones III arrives, I'll have more miniatures than I will probably be able to paint in the next 3 years, so waiting for Bones IV will also be no problem ;) CEO speech: It's an investment (i.e. you'll get a much greater value out of it because you get the miniatures at a reduced price). You don't invest money that you cannot spare and you don't pull out of a good investment because you have to wait a couple of months longer for it to come to fruition (no, I don't work in economics ... which might explain a couple of things).

I just don't know if I have the patience to but down a couple hundred and have to wait 2 years. I can understand this thinking. I feel the same way a bit. A friend of mine (who introduced me to Reaper) backed Bones III and he has waited a long time for them. He doesn't care about the wait, but he is more situated as I am. He's got a home, career and family and is not going anywhere any time soon. I, on the other hand, have 4-5 more years of my PhD and then who knows. Will I still be interested in painting in 2 years? I can't imagine not being, but you never know! I have a dissertation to write after all! I am certainly very interested in Bones 4, and pretty sure I will invest, but I will also consider what's being offered and what minis I am interested in. I also want to make it clear that I am a huge Reaper fan, their customer service was excellent and I love the paints and the minis. It is certain that, even if I don't back the kickstarter, Reaper is certainly going to get my money. Especially as the minis from Bones 3 are made available to retail!
Nunae
I can understand the both of you. My current DnD group will probably not be together anymore in two years (player a is finishing law school this summer, player b is going uproad for a year this fall, player c and d will finish school next year, I myself will also finish next year and I'm pretty sure I won't find work in my field in this city), and who knows if I will be able to find new people to kill entertain as a DM? But I do love painting right now, and I'll probably back at least the core set, I'm just pretty sure I won't be dumping all my hobby budget for the rest of the year on KS and keep a larger portion to actually buy things available right now. After all, Bones III will become available bit by bit and I see a lot in there I want and could use in the near future. Still, I'm super excited to see what's coming up.
