redambrosia
It would be awesome if they could bring all production to America, but I don't think that's a thing that will happen anytime soon (if ever).

At $1100+ per backer, DF is way out of my wallet, so I didn't pledge for it. CMON's Song of Ice and Fire sculpts are pretty darn impressive, so if Reaper doesn't take my money, CMON will! In fairness, you can get a decent starter set from DF for a relatively modest amount if you want to test it out, though its a fair point that it likely takes about $500 to get a pretty sizable layout with some oohs and ahhs. For example, I'm planning on dropping about $300 and should be able to get several rooms out of that (albeit not very large ones). 16 minutes ago, redambrosia said: It would be awesome if they could bring all production to America, but I don't think that's a thing that will happen anytime soon (if ever). Yeah unfortunately this is one of the downsides to the labor movement. While I fully support the goals of better wages and fairer practices, etc., the end result is much higher costs here in the States than in China.
Granite26
The upshot being that DF waited until they were delivered, or mostly so, before they launched their new KS. That's unfortunately pushing it into competition with Reaper for gaming equipment. Personally I'm not concerned for myself, but I do understand those that are. Gargs
Yeah, that's why I'm not going to be upset if Reaper is pushed back a little. I have a limited budget unfortunately and DF will take a couple months to recover from. :) As it stands right now, I should be able to at least get a decent pledge on Reaper when they launch. The longer they wait, the more I'd be able to pledge, but that's a different issue.
pinkymadigan
Honestly, I'd rather see them just push on, not have as many backers, and have a smaller overall campaign that ended up delivering quicker. I realize that wouldn't be as economical, but a smaller scale operation wouldn't be as much of a gamble from a "which ones do I need/want?" perspective. I ended up with quite a few from III that I don't think I need anymore.
Crowley
If I was a betting man, my money would be on the majority of the campaign being in August. Edited June 27, 2017 by David Brawley
Mushu_Green
Welp ... I couldn't wait for BonesIV so i ordered my first bones :o it's all downhill to bankruptcy from here :/
Knight of the Dinner Table
True ... I'm just really, really (I mean REALLY) good at not thinking about my painting queue ;) I guess I'll also sell about 10 or 15 minis on ebay (and I didn't back Bones I). I even was unwilling to back Bones II because I got stung quite a bit with customs ... but one (maybe two) looks at what was offered in Bones III made me change my mind (and in the end with EU friendly delivery I'm really happy that I did ... the new mind works a lot better, it just gets detracted easily ... now what was I saying?). For me, the Bones III core set was better than Bones II and needs/interests can change a bit ... so to be realistic: I'll probably back the core set again ...
robbie042
I have to make ends meet with a Disability pension so wether I back core-set IV depends on a number of factors. - Cost-price - the month in which the kickstarter is lauched (october for instance is the month that we have a con over the border in Essen, Germany so that month is already been booked) - the content of the core- set. this was also the reason that I asked when the kickstarter will be lauched.

Even if you pledged for a minimum amount while the kickstarter was running, that allows you to access the post kickstarter pledge manager which with Bones 1 through 3 was open for several months and allows you to add funds and items to your pledge at kickstarter prices.
Knight of the Dinner Table
I'd expect the core set to be $100 because (I think) it was the same amount the last couple of times.

It has been stated to be "Summer 2017." I had originally thought it would start in July and end in August. The fact that it is now July makes me think it will be August and ending the beginning of September. (This is my personal guess. I have no extra insight).
pcktlnt
I've actually been more satisified with the $50 expansions (bought all three) than I have with the core set from bones 3.
redambrosia
I didn't get the core set either, and probably won't get it next time. There just weren't enough minis that I had to have. Of course, then I forgot to get me and mrs bones Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the way the pledge manager worked for 3. It allowed me to get most of what I wanted (and what I didn't get was cause I forgot). I hope they do that again for 4. In fact, since I have to move soon, I'm counting on it :praying intensifies:
sigmaone
So, I haven't looked through all 62 pages of this thread, but have we commenced wild speculations about what kinds of minis will show up in Bones 4? What is needed/wanted? Are there obvious bones-gaps in the metal lines or new sculpts to be made?
