Wow, so much to like. I couldn't see anything that could use more tweaking until I super zoomed in. The eyes are mesmerizing, the cloth is luscious, the dragon believable, and the skin is flawless. Nice work and true art.

Wow.  She is luminous.  The subtle coloring on her skin and eyes is gorgeous.  The dragon looks leathery, and the spiderweb motifs on her garments are fantastic.

It turned out so gorgeously awesome!

Wait, what do mean '5 months'?!?

She means she'll be at Reapercon.

Whew, that could've given me a heart attack if she wasn't on the forums for that long.

Oh!  Sorry to be confusing!  yes- I'll be at Reapercon and I'm so excited already!! ::D:

Thanks everyone!    I'm really enjoying painting busts.  They give me enough space to play with color and the eyes sure are less stressful!

She's reminding us, only 5 months for the rest of us to do something amazing ourselves. I know I got one better hop to it.

As soon as I get my Reaper order, I'll be startingmy first commission. I'm going to need help on stuff I've never done before! I'm painting Thora and she has a face! And skin!

Vancouver Miniature Painters picked this for the first paint club item. It is Queen by Life Miniatures. I wanted to do more with it, and ended up doing the face and skin early.... then rushing the rest. All things considered, she turned out darn nice! Painted with a mix of Reaper, Vallejo, and Kimera. Reaper and Vallejo more on the skin and metal, Kimera more on the cloth. Many thanks to the paint club leader for good photos!

Lots of fun to paint. Nothing to glue. Fun, fun, fun!
I love painting dark elves. I tried a little more modern skin tone this time. The previous ones I painted I gave them more of an old school look with some light purple to their skin.

I'm painting this up for the BBEG this weekend. Last night I tried the layering technique for black by using multiple thin layers of complementary colors. Someone posted the artist and demo on the Reaper fan page a couple of weeks back when someone asked about painting black. If anyone knows the artist or link, please let me know since I can't find it. I highly recommend it. While these pics don't show the various tones of colors, it looks like rich black with some depth vs going flat like some black paints do. I love the effect. However, I will say it doesn't work as well on something more curvy. I was also trying it on another mini for her top and she'd very curvaceous. It looked a little weird so I just repainted it.

So that being said, I'd love some thoughts on what to do about the collar piece and gloves he has. Should I do the same black treatment or go with a different color? I think I'm going to do his pants in a gray so the focus is more on his armor. Thanks!

I got the early bird 4 bust deal.  FWIW I have some of their earlier figures and they've been very good quality.
