Glamberry
Not sure how anyone should have known about that, it's not like there has been information. Did I miss something? Because the last email I read estimated shipment to be done by the end of this week. I'm really confused about this.
Gadgetman!
No, it hasn't been posted here at least. If there's only one person working there we fully understand why it takes so long to ship them out.

I'm really hoping that someone can at least provide info in the KS comments as well as here to manage expectations for the ROW crowd. Was the convention schedule included on any of the updates? If not, making that available might help.
Edsterdoom
I agree managing expectations is hard when they are so close to being delivered.

Maybe two weeks was a bit too optimistic then? I'll be waiting then, KIT here's cheering you on!

His temp labor is arriving next week. W'all, of course, didn't realise because no one told us. In any case, 25 shipments in 1 day is piss poor by anyone's standards even for one person. Also begs the question why a week in to the supposed two weeks in which 'all' the orders will be delivered, they've only got one person doing it. Pretty poor comms, Reaper, and even poorer organisation of your re-shipping subcontractor. If you have time to tick us off on the Reaper forums for our (not unreasonable) impatience at this point, perhaps you could take the time to post something on the KS comments to mollify your increasingly irate backers in the ROW.
ratsmitglied
Something else to remember with the Australian shipment/shipping costs is that at the time the project was running the plan was for Bones 3 to ship from the US, hence the shipping costs. It wasn't until CAV2, BaseBoss and Secret Weapon projects were running that the change was actually made. When shipping of Bones 3 started it was the stated aim of the AU government that pretty much everything coming into the country would be liable for GST (aka VAT) and duties, regardless of value, and that these would have to be collected by the company sending the items (who would have to register as an entity for Australian tax), starting as of 1 July 2017. After the AU product was on the water this was pushed back to 1 July 2018. It is possible that this was taken into account when the decision was made to send Bones 3 this way rather than the originally planned direct shipment. That there was no communication that the shipping method was changing until it was actually on the water is a separate issue.

That there was no communication that the shipping method was changing until it was actually on the water is a separate issue. Still doesn't mean they can just leave it and go nah whatever. If they charged extra to take into account the 'extra' costs of taxes. That money can be refunded due to overcharging. Just stinks of shady dealings. The other thing to look at is the KS website says outright local tariffs and taxes you have to deal with yourself. So why in that case are they conveniently for our benefit charging taxes. Again shady dealings. When Bones IV starts they need to state the method of shipping they will use. Charge for that and not change it. Regardless of whatever occurs. If their delays cause a rise in shipping costs on their end. Sorry they need to wear it. They have had quite a few KS now to learn the ropes. All the troubles with China. Get on it this time. Learn from their mistakes. I know I am being harsh. But I really don't care. Money is an issue at times. For me doing the Bones KS means I have to cut back on other things that I like and enjoy. SO when it seems pretty obvious that myself (and plenty of others) have been lied to about shipping costs and charged incorrectly. I think we have the right to question and even criticize the situation. The other thing and this is going to be blatantly selfish. It was mentioned Reaper did what they did to help the RoW. Sorry I really don't want to be paying more for my shipping just because it might make the RoW cheaper. Not my problem. If shipping costs to your country are too high. Look at other avenues or take it up with your government. This is one of the reasons the tax was put off until 2018. The government is getting serious heat about it on polls taken as it will seriously impact business here importing. Which will then lead to them having to put their prices up. Which then means people will just go overseas. Vicious cycle. Add in the arrival of Amazon in Australia who is going to rip local businesses to shreds. Good chance the import taxes will either disappear or be watered down severely. I did get a very quick response via Facebook from Reaper. Which pretty much just gave a stock standard. We paid for the container and taxes. I have a friend who works for Customs here in Australia and asked him about it. He said that the method used would easily have been considerably cheaper. Especially if it is all one big container. Where he said they would have had serious savings. SO yeah again. Seems really shady on Reaper's part. Beagle
Brings to mind the John Lydgate quote: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time” I have some sympathy for Reaper in all of this
Dwarf-Lord
Just got this email from Aetherworks. Quote Greetings, Kickstarter Backers! If you have received this email, it is because you are due to receive a Kickstarter pledge for Bones III. We will be handling the fulfilment in Australia and New Zealand for Reaper, and pledges are starting to be sent now. If you’d like see updates on the progress of the fulfilment, please check our Facebook page via the button below, where we will be posting regular updates. It looks like the bones has arrived in Aus.
Laoke
Interesting. I was honestly expecting them to take a week or two to get through customs. Good news though! From the Aetherworks Facebook page: Quote Good evening, Kickstarter backers, Mid-week Kickstarter updates are: Reaper Bones 3 - Bones 3 has arrived, is currently being processed, and pledges started shipping today. Please note that pledges are not being sent out in a specific order, so we are not going to be able to advise when specific pledges will be processed and sent. It also appears that some people are due to receive two parcels for their pledges. These might not be sent out on the same day due to the order we received them, so if you receive a parcel without some items, they may be due to arrive in a later parcel. If you get an AusPost email indicating you are being sent something with a reference "RB3-", that is a Bones parcel. We'll be back Friday with further updates on Bones, and hopefully a few other projects as well. That "two parcels for pledges" thing & that they're throwing the wave system out the window would concern me if I was using them: that means that my system for minimising duty via staggered shipments wouldn't necessarily have worked if I'd used Reaper for shipping to NZ. Still, it does mean that we should start to see Bones III deliveries around Asia-Pacific well before Bones IV goes live which might, hopefully, cool down some of the KS comments.
