I have a friend who was a linguistics major and now teaches English who kept messing this up. When I pointed out the root, it helped her remember it's not something so diculous it happened twice, but something worthy of ridicule. Now she gets it right all the time (so she says). Anyway, that's how I've been presenting it since then to help people remember it.
Dwarf-Lord
My package has passed through customs and the airport post office and is now in the safe hands of the Japanese post office. It should he here tomorrow or the day after.
Glamberry
On another topic I think I messed something else up. I have rewards logged in my pledge manager that I can't find anywhere on the campaign pictures...did anyone else log in Town extras (I'm pretty sure it was not the torture chamber) and Fire Giant King and Queen? I had this logged in so long ago I didn't even remember all I pledged for...or am I just blind and can't find them. Edit: Nvm I found them Edited July 23, 2017 by Glamberry
CrazyK
Bones 3 order finally turned up late last week. Couldn't open and check everything until today three days later due to work and family commitments. For all the stress and angst. Most definitely worth the wait. Still dubious and dirty about the shipping and kerfuffle with Aetherworks and their seemingly impossible ability to respond appropriately to emails (really seems like they took too much on). Hoping that Reaper will soon address the shipping issue and give a refund or SOMETHING as a way of saying a massive big sorry for the dubious change in shipping. Especially before Bones 4 launches as it is something that will most definitely effect how I support it. Reaper needs to fix some of the bad blood that has arisen. Already made the decision I am not going to fork the money over for a detour to Reapercon when I go to US in Oct. Anyhoo, went through everything and only missing a few things. One thing I can live without (the Donkey from Core), the others are needed (Mrs Bones miscast with no sword or sword arm, No Cobra from Core and worst Goremaw has no side pincers!). So now need to send email and hope for some replacement parts/minis. Goremaw is the first thing big thing I was going to paint. Talk about Murphy's Law! LOL

Knight of the Dinner Table
You have mentioned it a couple of times now: According to you, Reaper charged airfreight prices and shipped by sea. You would like a refund of the shipping cost difference ... Living in Europe, I also had pretty high shipping costs, but nowhere was it said that it would be shipped by air, I always assumed it would come by ship. Where did Reaper say Australia would be air-freighted? (Did not pay attention to any updates about that as it does not concern me ... but as you bring it up so often, I'd like to know). Glamberry
I'm hoping that I will get my shipping notification next week. But then I'm trying to be careful...I had my hopes up last week as well. I have to admit that I personally only assumed it would be air freight since the shipping made up over 30% of the cost...but I didn't read it anywhere. That being said I would have not paid that much shipping knowing it was coming the sea route. I would have taken shipping into my own hands like others have done. I will be careful in the future not to assume things. I think I'm sitting out on bones 4 and might just order the few minis I really want after they hit the store. I wish I would have known about import taxes before. I would have taken advantage of it but as it wasn't clear, I ended up having to restrict my order massively to keep it affordable for me at the time. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone painting up all the great stuff!

I was so impressed with how feminine and beautiful she is. I love the savage avatars and lycanthropes too! My only disappointment with the graveyard set was that the roof on the mausoleum was not designed to come off to be able to see into the interior. Silly to make details on the inside that you can't really see. I wonder if Baba Yaga's hut will have a removable roof. But yes, I agree that the graveyard set is cool! I was honestly pleased with all of the figures I received. It was my understand that the roof did come off the masolium... it's just a little tight.
Pochi
5 minutes ago, Thes Hunter said: It was my understand that the roof did come off the masolium... it's just a little tight. Well, you can not glue it and pull the walls apart every time you want to take it off. Or, you can try and cut, file, etc off the edges to make it go on and off. (I tried this and could maybe get it to work but it would scrape off paint so I gave up.) There is no way to assemble it, glue the walls and everything and get the roof off. At least I couldn't on mine and my friend who ordered with me couldn't either. He is leaving his unglued and just going to pop the walls off to get the roof off. I am just giving in and gluing my walls together and I just won't be able to access the inside. It honestly looks like the roof was intended to come off as there are ledges for the sides to rest on. But then there are grooves where the edges of the roof fit into and rivets and other architectural bits that inhibit it from going on and off. It's not the end of the world. It is just the only thing I was disappointed with in my order. One thing out of the whole order isn't bad and it's not like I hate it and it's unusable. I hope future terrain bits (aka Baba Yaga's hut) have removable roofs that are actually removable without jumping through hoops!
Thes Hunter
@Pochi - it may not scratch off the paint. I will add the harder plastics to my durability tests, but right now, thick paint on bones (with or with out using liner as primer(avoid beige liner though)) and then a coat of brush on sealer (if necessary) creates a quite durable coat. I've squeezed minis into a small tub and dragged them through conventions and gotten no damage on those prepared as above. Only problems I've encountered related to the old walnut brown, beige liner, and paint that was rather thin on the mini. (Or less than 24 hours since painting it.) but all all those experiments have been on the softer bones. I'll paint up one of the dark grey ones, but I suspect similar or the exact same performance. So it should be able to withstand the stress of being put together/taken apart. But hey, I could be wrong, and it does sound like you've monkeyed with the actual pieces more than so have.

Where did Reaper say Australia would be air-freighted? (Did not pay attention to any updates about that as it does not concern me ... but as you bring it up so often, I'd like to know). It's a question of pricing, more than anything else. When I did my shipping comparison waaaaaay back when the Kickstarter was live, I was using air freight because, honestly, it never occurred to me to use surface freight. My estimate worked out to be 25% cheaper to ship myself - it was a major component of why I went that route. The actual shipping cost on the day worked out to be pretty much comparable to the Reaper offering, but I got it something like 6 weeks ahead of the "official" ROW shipping. Yes, doing it this way did mean that duty was covered for Australian backers, but according to some Aussie backers the limit at which they get charged duty is around $1000 USD so that was pretty much a wash for all but the largest orders - and I'm not sure if NZ orders had to pay duties or not but there are ways around that if you ship yourself as well. So the argument being made was that Reaper shipped to Asia-Pacific surface mail using air freight prices. That's why one or two backers are asking for a shipping refund of some description. Reaper have said they can't comment one way or t'other till shipping is complete and they have the actual shipping costs in front of them. Largely academic for me - I will be reshipping any future Bones kickstarter from the US myself. The costs are comparable, it's 6 weeks faster, and the lack of frustration I've experienced would make it worth paying 25% more for shipping easily.
ratsmitglied
Prices charged for shipping to Australia in bones 3 were comparable to bones 2, which was shipped directly from reaper. Shipping for tablescapes and Cav2 was significantly cheaper, and these were flagged as being shipped from an Australian distributor. I think that it is a valid assumption that with shipping costs being charged for bones 3 that the shipping method would be the same as bones 2. We also didn't hear anything about an Australian distributor for shipping until it started, as this was not part of the original plan.

I agree with Heisler on this one. Don't miss out on a great convention because of this. You're going to miss out on a incredible event that really has nothing to do with your KS experience.
