The G Unit Offensive

To those that are interested, we have an upcoming scenario where my niece's mercenary unit (G Unit) is about to be blooded on a staunch defense, protecting a power facility. Information is on the Mil Net,

Key

Lucky 8s are handling the Northwest approach, G Unit is approaching from the south, each star is a section of CAV, each Tomahawk is, well a Tomahawk (16 CAVs, 1 infantry platoon). The towers have stats already posted, Minefields and remoted detonated Heavy Claymores, cover the southern approach.

 

The Big thing next to the southern most CAV formation is the top view of the Geronimo, that is a dropship symbol where it says Spartans Last Known Position. The Defensive turrets are all labeled and I will post the next post, detailing each gun tower.

 

Some of these symbols have circles around them signifying thier range of operation. the Circle around the Geronimo is the area where it can deliver orbital fire support from its four mass projection rifles. The red circles around the defensive sites are engagement radiai and the larger cyan colored circle is area is the area of a high powered ECCM array.

Guardian Angel, we’re conducting gun camera fly by of the western operation area; locking in fixed targets. I got confirmed 32 bogeys in a high class mad dog , that’s both Ortiz Tomahawks, lots of touch, lots of reach, one on either side of the river.

 

I spotted another counter attack force several klicks north, one tomahawk in reserve, these guys got the first class touch; obviously, their mission is to retake those pontoons if G Unit and the 8’s are successful. Lots of bad mojo here, boss. I’m forwarding the data to you.

Most of these towers overlap with their primary weapons coverage, but there is a dip in between Halo 75 Bravo and Halo 76 Alpha, when approaching from a due south vector. This is where a concentration of mines is located to cover this perimeter while a new tower was being built, Halo 75 Delta. This area is also covered by Halo 76 Alpha’s ECCM screen.

 

The Achilles heel is just up the stretch, where a small coastal area provides a very clear view to the breeder facility; this means G Unit will have to penetrate and hold this area so that Alpha Recon can chain in the Geronimo to the Breeder Facility control centers.

 

The tricky part is that quick response force in the south; they have been tracking our advance and divided up into two formidable task forces of 8 CAVs each. With the strong defenses surrounding them, they will put up one heck of a fight. These troops have to be contained.

 

Alpha Towers can be taken over by technicians, however because of the high security value of this area, turret control programs for the slave towers can be routed to any other standing Alpha towers. If you plan to take over the turrets themselves, all three Alpha towers have to be taken. Unfortunately, 2 of the three alpha towers are on the other side of the river.

 

The second tomahawk on the other side of the river has a definite range advantage. Mostly paired Gladiators pointed with a super heavy like a Rhino or Ogre, local support being the Sabretooths. The Gladiators are going to tag anyone trying to get across that river, and if you do, you’ll have 3 super heavies to contend with. The Sabretooths are most likely assigned to protect the Alpha Towers from our techs.

 

Time is essential here, cause within 4 to 5 minutes, that counter assault will smoke butt south; you saw the recon report, definitely first class. Each one of those CAVs are speed demons, and with a fairly balanced weapons load out, mostly Samurai variants of the Regent. This is a nasty CAV to deal with, excellent speed, respectable firepower, respectable armor and excellent targeting; we know it’s tough to maintain so we expect a fairly green crew, and minor upgrades.

 

Its not going to be easy, fortunately once these guys are cracked, the south is ours; all we will need to do then is hold our position until the cavalry gets here. Judging from our reports, the boys back home finally got on the same sheet of music as us, CETFOR is coming, and the entire Lone Wolf Company will be pressing north against the rest of the Gutierrez Division.

 

Ok, with this info, the idea is for those reading over the information provided, assume the role of "TACOPS" and give G Unit some ideas about how to break this defense, without too many losses......
