Kyphrixis the Copper (Bones 3)

Recommended Posts

This is fantastic and really set off my imagination when looking at my unpainted model. I absolutely love the wings and the contrasting scales.

Im thinking about painting my clear version of him as a shadow dragon but my regular one will follow a similar scheme to yours.

I think you were able to break things down well.  I like the variation of tone on the scales and the wing membrane.  Great work.

You did give him a great deal of character. He looks like a dragon that has been through some things. Great paint job.

Very nice. I like the contrast of the pale wings, and how you did not go overboard with the verdigris and let the copper shine through.

Really fantastic - love what you have achieved here with the metallics

Can you say what specific craft paints you used? Is the skin of his wings a metallic as well?

The craft paints are "FolkArt Metallic". I got them in Walmart (Canada).

I used copper (very red) and bronze (more orange).

The washes were Vallejo game ink.

Yes, the skin on the wings is also metallic. (Very diluted metallic paint on white primer)

Hi all.  I may have finished this guy in record time.  I am trying this new thing where when I want to stop and get up from my desk... I don't .  This is a bugbear that I just primed with a couple others even though I didn't really have any strong feelings about him.  But as I started working on him I started to get more excited, which is something that's been happening to me more now.  I just start a mini to get more stuff painted and end up liking the job.  I have started to put more effort into highlighting because I got a nudge here on the forums and I am so glad I did.  I really like the work I did on his armour, bringing the scales up to a brighter orange and ticking the edges with silver to make it look like the orange was paint wearing off.  In person he really glitters with that silver, something that didn't quite come across in the picture.  I like the highlighting I did with his skin and loincloth and also the silver rivets on the arm and shin guards.  I hope you all like him too!

Here's the bones Cave Troll!  I painted some of the pustules red with white-heads on them...very gross and troll-ey.  :)

Ok, forum family, as the title says, I really wanna paint an Aasimar, but atm I can't buy any more mini (wanna paint what I have before!) and so I decided to make my own one.
      So I took this:

      and this:

      to make this one:

I know the picture sux, but I'm pretty happy of how she came out... now time to choose the palette.. mumble mumble
Any advice, is welcome, help poor Cicciopiu to make it real! :D :D
