To add to the number of projects I'm falling behind on, I picked up the new 40k boxed set, "Dark Imperium":

I'm really liking what I've seen for the new 40k, and although I haven't gotten a real game in in a long time, I've played Nurgle Chaos Space Marines for a long time.  It's really cool to seem Marines the size they're supposed to be.

I skipped over assembly photos, and went straight to the drybrushed armor.  I think there's some shoulders and skin done in this photo, too:

I haven't even primed the Poxwalkers yet.  I already have a ton of modern/sci-fi zombie types, and while I do plan on using the new sculpts, I want to convert the second half a bit before I paint them.

You can see my previous project, the poor Cave Goblins (of The Hobbit films), literally pushed to the side.  I may work on them as a co-project, as they would make great Poxwalkers!

The forces grow:

Great Reaper Goth'ma, my counts-as Typhus:

A Nurgle Sorcerer, or counts as Necrosus:

The pox spreads:

As I'm painting, I suddenly have the urge to crush a Poxwalker with my bare hands.  So many fiddly details!

Thankfully for the official sculpts, it's just going to be these and the First Strike sculpts.  The rest will come from my existing Plague Zombie hordes.

While I'm not a fan of Nurgle generally, you make them look sick!!

That would be the best compliment I could get for the forces of Nurgle.  Thank you.

Time for the Helforges to heat up.  Some old vehicles, either assembled by myself many moons ago or acquired in varying condition, are getting drafted into The Forsaken Sons:

Nice motor pool! What are your plans for them; any converting, or just get 'em painted?

Oh, they're heavily converted from what they were the other day when I found them again.  The pipes were added, they had icons done.

I need to dig out my gargoyle heads for the lascannons, and figure out what scraps of bits I have to build the sponsons...both on the "newer" Predator design.

Tentacles!!!! They need tentacles !!!

Also maybe you could use Reaper's Fly Demon for some cool conversion on a vehicle?

Or the smaller Bones one for some heads?

So anyone who follows my planned goals for hobbying/painting in the Speed Painting subforum knows that I don't fair very well when it comes to monthly goals; I barely got one month's goal done last year. So this year I've decided to give myself a bit of leeway: an entire year to try to complete five hobby goals from 25 possibilities. The idea was inspired from Rob Hawkins' blog, that I've sporadically read for a few years.

I've tried to tailor my card to areas in which I typically struggle yet still retain some fun, as well as to make sure that no path to victory is entirely easy for me. Given that I finished no models last year, this should still prove quite a challenge for me.

A couple squares are time sensitive goals. To provide myself with a bit more incentive, I've decided to incorporate some health goals into the mix should I fail to achieve them. For example, if I'm attempting the assembly of 10 model in under a week, however many models I fall short by equals a number of physical exercises. I'm looking forward to it (both the exercise and getting through some of my stash).

I'll do my best to post here so you all can keep me honest. Don't be afraid to ask me about my progress!

Seemingly unrelated to each other, but I swear all these minis were drying from the sealer by 11:23pm on 12/31/2020.

      Here are....Lidless Eye's Last Minis of 2020!

A Winter Wizard from Reaper Miniatures oh wait it's Santa, isn't it?

To back him up, some friendly Reindeer to back him up.

Wait, I'm being informed they're actually Grashrak's Despoilers from Warhammer: Underworlds

The last bit of their native habitat, a fallen tree (3D print from The Lost Adventures)

A creepy Scarecrow Puppet familiar from Reaper Miniatures.

Arik Axereaver, Barbarian, acquired as a bonus along with the Father Christmas.  His head seems to reflect everything in the lightbox.

And doing what we all should from the last year, the Fleeing Halfling from Warploque Miniatures.  He must know Johann.

Well, while I let Devona dry, I’ll switch gears to a mini off the shelf of waiting...

The plan is for an ice ogre, with blue-gray skin.

Slightly delayed to finish, and even more delayed to post to the forums, are my usual themed miniatures from November: Dwarves!

Beardy folk seem most appropriate for No-Shave November.

Redcaps pretending to be Dwarves from Massive Darkness

A Duergar Trapper from Stonehaven Miniatures

The Dwarf King from the small release "The Dwarf King's Court, Revisited" by Colin Dixon Miniatures

A Warhammer Dwarf Miner where I think I remembered how flames work:

This was going to be my PC for Rise of the Runelords, but the game ended before I ever painted him.  Grimlok Rockholmes, the World's 2nd Greatest Dwarf Detective.
SKU: 50319: OLAV GUNDERSON, DWARF GAMBLER

The only beardless member, SKU 77413: Margara, Dwarf Shaman

SKU 77572: Dwarf Master of the Hunt.  Jason Wiebe always manages to hide fun details: I hadn't realized his jacket was a dragonskin and not just armor plates until I was almost done and wound up painting it to match.

Another Pathfinder Iconic that took way too long, SKU 89020 Harsk, Iconic Dwarf Ranger
