Does no one do cuneiform on wax tablets any more?

I keep sticking my front teeth into the tablet when I squint and bring it closer to read.  I had to give it up.

Yesterday was our 5th anniversary. Hubby asked me why I stuck around for that long. "Obviously I either like being annoyed, or you aren't doing the right kind of annoying to drive me away."

See, the problem with those straws is that by the time your drink reaches your mouth, it's warm.

::o: not potatoes! Potatoes are god's greatest gift to this benighted world!

Happy anniversary!

So I'm cleaning out the bedroom closets.

I found a box with heaps of old game handouts and character sheets.  Latest dated material with them says 2002, and some of the stuff is up to ten years older.

That was before we took up D&D so the kids would have orderly rulesets to follow, so it's all homebrewed stuff, some of it kind of wild.

I found an entire recipe file from the '90s I had filled with file cards (with my teeny-tiny pre-presbyopia handwriting) with myriads of details of world mythology, folklore, etc. for a game I never ran.  Stuff like Navajo dangerous places and Ojibway spirit types and Celtic place-names and Trobriand Island hospitality rules, basically anything weird or cool I ran across in my reading.

I always make a plan so I know exactly how my reno projects end.

That sounds about right...

I have grapefruit looseleaf Earl Grey tea.  It's not as weird as I thought it would be.

Ew...

Finally caught up. Went down to Baltimore to clean pack sort and trash more stuff in the house in anticipation of renting it out. Was hoping to play some 40K, but the timing didn't work out. Did get some D&D in, and then went to a party with an open bar after I got back to NYC.

Now just dealing with Monday...

Power outage in the central and Northeast part of my city. Using primitive communications methods to talk to you.

I know this isn't the solution you used, but for future reference, here's an official IETF RFC: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1149

Caught up! Woo! Now back to work, because the brain weasels are circling and if I don't start concentrating on something I'm going to have a hard time keeping the stupid things at bay.

If you're having a bad day go to the "product search" and type in Ridolfi and Undead. Some of those old undead sculpts are so amazingly awesome. It makes me want to do a paint challenge where the goal is to grab up some of the really old sculpts that don't have painted examples and get some paint on them.

Happy Anniversary Redambrosia!!

Yesterday my teenaged daughter had her plans with a friend get cancelled at the last minute again (she's trying to stay in touch with someone who moved to a neighboring suburb) so I took her clothes shopping as consolation.  All her jeans were too big because we thought she was going to grow but she ended up just losing weight.  (Poor girl probably won't make it to 5'2".)  Trying really hard to help her make a good impression when she starts at the high school in the fall.

So today I need to try and sort out fun plans for the week along with actually being productive.  And hopefully I can paint my mounted paladin conversion, because it's going to be needed for our D&D game.
