Ours only does passports by appointment. We were looking at the dates and they didn't look right. That's when we realized it was for the next month, and it was almost full! Thank goodness we were doing it early.

The post office here was a major hassle, from what I saw.  (I was mailing a package at the time, but many people were getting passports.)   The local county courthouse was much easier.  Also closer to hubby's office, which is important when you're getting a child's passport and need to both show up.

Still trying to decide if I'm going to drag a costume (especially the boots) out and actually wear it to ReaperCon or not.  I think I can fake the rest of what I need except a long old fashioned scarf to wear as a belt/sash and the actual correct style of belt to wear over it.  And the hassle of contacts that I can only see about ten feet in...

T-Shirts just sound so much easier and more comfortable...

@Pingo

You remind me that I need to go through my closet and weed out clothes that would benefit someone in need better. I have quite a few clothes I haven't worn in 2+ years, and we have a really excellent thrift store in the town where I'm from that benefits those less fortunate. I need to take said clothes and make a donation. Luckily for me my fashion style hasn't changed much since about 1997, save that I now prefer carpenter jeans to the style I wore then.

One of our faculty has this sign on his door:

"I'm going to start calling the John the Jim.  Because it sounds better when I tell people that I went to the Jim this morning!"

Yesterday was our 5th anniversary. Hubby asked me why I stuck around for that long. "Obviously I either like being annoyed, or you aren't doing the right kind of annoying to drive me away." :lol:

See, the problem with those straws is that by the time your drink reaches your mouth, it's warm.

::o: not potatoes! Potatoes are god's greatest gift to this benighted world!

Friday is our 5th anniversary! Happy anniversary to you both!

There's college reunions? :huh: I've only heard of high school ones. I really wish that my high school didn't rely solely on each graduating class to make reunions happen; my class has yet to have one that I know of. :unsure:

Next year will be my 10th high school reunion. I'm not sure if there will even be a reunion since it was an online high school that I actually graduated from. Not to mention there were only 8 of us at graduation.

We ran errands today. Got a bunch of things we need for vacation. Also, went to the mall and got our wedding rings cleaned and inspected. I wanted to do more shopping but we're going shopping with my MIL tomorrow as she offered to get us some things for vacation and we can pay her back once/if we get things sorted with getting our stolen money back.

I have always wondered because I seem to be incapable but...

How can one make a small lasagna? Is it even possible? Every time I try I end up making a 10 pound lasagna and have to call people to help me eat it.

I got Mr. Thorne making it in ceramic bread pans. And freezing the excess sauce... or using it for spaghetti.
