I went to a place once where they simply turned off the warning light instead of fixing anything so when the light came back on they could get the repeat business. It wasn't my car (hah) but it's still a dick move.

 

I took my car in once because the headlights were out of adjustment with one pointing up very high. So off to the repair shop. As I was called to the service desk to check out, they had a big picture window into the garage, and I saw my car there... with both headlights now pointing skyward. I asked the service manager if the mechanic simply adjusted the second headlight upwards to match. He paused for a second, apologized, and went out to give the poor guy a chewing. They replaced the headlight adjustment bracket that had broke. But still... seriously?

 

I have new kitchen stairs. They are not screwed in to anything. Big giant wedges hammered in, yes. Little blocks glued and nailed in the back, yes. It's not like the stairs can come out anyway. They're cut into the sides. Look really nice.

Had an escape attempt tonight. I went to take out the trash and Ed decided that he was done loving the cushy life of an inside cat and charged out the door. He's done it before, but he usually just takes a few steps before he stops to sniff the grass. This time, he bolted. And as soon as I gave chase, he took off some more. He tried to climb into a neighbor's bushes, and did everything he could to non-violently keep me away. I eventually caught him, but he really didn't want to come back inside...

Happy you caught him!

Never know what might happen when they run away.

 

Also..I just had pre-lunch a but of Pide ( Turkish bread) with Humus.

Now I will attend to the Mess with my fellow NCOs to eat some soup..

 

Also..I wished I was home to hobby.

I'm thinking about it all day, and I just know that when I get home, I will be too tired to do it anyway..

Probably will be playing Panzer Corps again tonight.

 

How I wish to win the lottery...

The weird thing is how ... off they seem.  Like they sort of got the superficialities of the style but are missing the spirit.

 

Ever see one of those rarefied academic literary types who suddenly decides he can write a romance novel because, well, obviously, who then churns out something which looks like the surface film on one inlet of the lake of romance but completely misses all nuances of the soul of the art?
