I'm making a 2mm Age of Sail fort out of a boot-heel I found in the line to get on the ferry to see Fort Sumter.

How very froggy.

Just got word, the Technician who fell off the stairs has a broken neck.

Pfff. He might have just dodged the bullet there.

All from a missed step. ::(: hope he recovers quickly and completely.

Ok, So one last thing about my birthday!!!!!

Talk about the best gift ever! (for those of use that like this kind of thing)

japan_hib11.jpg

This Whiskey won whiskey of the year last year, i think, or the year before. Which is a pretty big deal - from what i hear - since it's a Japanese whiskey.

I tell you what, this was amazing. I can see why it won too!

Hibiki has won the 'World Whiskey Awards' Best Blended Whiskey award in 2016, and 2017. (Note this is not the only World, or International Whiskey award out there.) These awards do not appear to put out a separate singular 'Best Whiskey' award. Only awards by category.

It's also not surprising since Suntory also won Jim Murray's Award for it's 2013 Yamazaki Sherry Cask in 2015

BTW, Suntory bought Jim Beam (Who also makes Marker's Mark and Knob Creek)  back in 2014.

I looked into various 'World Whiskey Competitions', that info is below the cut:

Many magazines seem to reference Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible as the 'Whiskey Award'.

http://www.mensjournal.com/food-drink/articles/the-2017-world-whisky-of-the-year-revealed-or-a-whiskey-you-will-never-be-able-to-find-w445208 (But note, the 2017 winner, Booker's Rye is a Jim Beam product, produced from the last remaining barrels made by Booker Beam. I.e. A Suntory product.)

There is also an International Whiskey Competition

Which choose Ardbeg Kelpie : http://www.abbeywhisky.com/ardbeg-kelpie-committee-exclusive-release-aw01887

I can't like that.

I've seen some high cervical fractures be ok. I'm wishing him all the best.

There are four houses that made the original Kaiju Cut.  House Figmentius, House Tabletop, House Frogwarts and House Procrastius.  Of these, the most likely to regularly sacrifice Goats is House Frogwarts (but they also sacrifice Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Space Marines, Unicorns and anything else to Frankenstein their creations together).

Secret Handshake?  *** looks down at paws and shrugs ***

We have crabby people around here?  *** looks through the forums ***  I think you might have the wrong place.  Though you could ask Ub3r about the world domination bit.  He seems to run through lots of places screaming and hitting things and would know where the secret red buttons were kept.

My whiskey post started out by saying "I'm not surprised because according to my husband, Japan has been buying up all the bourbon." And I looked things up and found out that was not true. Australia drinks more US Whiskey per capita than Japan. Ok right behind Americans. 70% of US whiskey is drank by us. (Though I note they list all Whiskey, and don't make a special carve out for bourbon.)

Which led me to the article about Suntory buying Jim Beam in 2014, and at first I thought 'Well it's not surprising Hibiki won because maybe they are learning some things from our storied Kentucky traditions." and I found out that wasn't true because Suntory was winning awards for it's whiskey before even buying Jim Beam.

But it does explain why several of the distilleries around here have gotten noticeable upgrades. It also appears that Suntory distilleries are the ones more likely to charge for tours. Though from my perspective on the ground, I would have never known they were not American owned any more.

(But, if you ever find yourself wanting a Bourbon tour, I would recommend Buffalo Trace. It's in a historic building, it covers a nice history lesson, teaches some about how it's made, and gives you 3 samples at the end. Oh AND it's Free! I haven't gone on the Marker's Mark tour yet (or any that matter) to compare.. but I know they charge a small fee to do it.)

So, my final posting diverged quite a bit from my original intent... but I learned something!

---

Also, House tabletop has more game than just what's going on on top of the table, if you know what I mean. *swag*
